I thought it was 2.7 and like I say when employers say to agencies we will not interview anyone who isn't working the agency just does what they are told. Ok you will all say thats how they get their money but someone needs to stand up to companies with bad attitudes when I am sure there are lots of people who are out of work with a great deal of experience and can't even get interviews.

    Typo, 2.7 is correct.
half counts towards 16-25 year olds!

Agencies will listen to specifications, if they intend to keep the client.

I have just recently re done my CV and I think it looks a lot better than my old lay out and was told my old CV was under selling me so lets hope I have better luck with the new one.

Wish you all the luck, with your updated one!

but its legalised discrimination. No one would be allowed to say find me a candidate but I do not want a girl or a older person but they can say I don't want to interview someone not working.

What are your views and experiences with certain agencies used?

I currently work in Recruitment, and would like to know peoples experiences of finding work through agencies...

In my field (HR) most of the jobs are recruited using specialist agencies, when I worked as a contractor doing perhaps 2-4 contracts per year I only ever got a job without going through an agency on one occasion. I think recruitment is a different kettle of fish for specialised and senior roles to the more generic high st agencies that cater for call centres, admin staff and the like.
I found that I was usually treated pretty well, I built up good working relationships with most of the consultants. When you do contracting, you're on the market a few times a year and can really get to know the consultants as jobhunting kind of becomes part of your job IYKWIM.

Only a new lay out really, nothing on there that's new just selling myself I guess in a better way where I wasn't before at all.

But I find it hard to believe agencies are doing that. We work with graduates who have next to no experience. We don't specialize in targeting companies for grad placements we get them applying and all our employers are happy to see them?

You can report them agencies. If they are registered with the REC, it's shocking?!

    Report them for what?

You mentioned because of your time period out of work, agencies you register with are discriminating against the length of time you've been out of work, thus not being proactive with your applications or constantly sending you emails telling you you haven't been successful due to the reasons you feel discriminate against you.
