  • Monnagram I agree with you and your rev. About children in church, its so nice to see :) Church is such a big part of our lives after turning to it to cope with the losses of my babies. My Eliza is a gift from god. Now my DS serves (as accolight and crucifer) and DH is on one of the committees and got confirmed. I organise the flower Rota, and arrange too. We go every week no matter how sick I got, and it got me through such hard times. The church said its a long time since they've has a church baby, and everyone is so kind. Eliza will be christened during Easter Sunday service as we are regulars :)

Anyway, Eliza will grow up going to church, and I hope she'll love it as much as we do.
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

    Evening all,

Not managed to post over the wkend as my since my DB arrived for his visit and have had lots of family coming ans going, resulting in a big party last night and it was after 2 when we got to bed:eek: great fun though even if I did have too much wine and have had a bit of a sore head all day.:o
Lunch over in Yorkshire today was lovely and a win for the reds so the fellas were happy.
Feeling exhausted now and DB is shattered as not yet over his jet lag so I think early nights all round.
Hope everyone is ok as I have missed reading the last couple of days. Hopefully will catch up tomorrow.
    Have a good evening all J x

  • JulieG have you had a wee look at the baby board on the families board? Its like a virtual mother and toddlers' group, you might enjoy it.

Sorry I just realised that might sound a bit pushy, :o

Nic1lou2: Yes, I do the same as Camelot. Classic Victoria sponge recipe in a buttered basin with plenty of syrup in the base. Clingfilm and microwave on high for 4 mins, let it satnd for 3 or 4 mins and BINGO. There was nothing left tonight.

JG: Agree with everything you say. Church is very different now from when I was a child. Most enlightened churches are very family-friendly.
Also, I know you are looking to move soon and if you go to church you very soon have a great circle of friends, even if you didn't know anyone before you arrived. It makes settling in that much easier.

Just sitting here and realised that we haven't obscured the windows with newspaper or dried on Windowlene as the curtains have been taken down to re-decorate
  • Hello everyone,

    Long time no type!

Apologies for being missing for sooooo long. I've missed you all.

It was my birthday last week and DH and I went away for the weekend to Northumbria using some Mr T reward vouchers. I had never been to that area before but DH had when he was a little lad and he still recognised parts of Seahouses and Bamborough. What a lovely part of the country and so welcoming.

Then todaymy lovely daughters took me and DH out for a meal at a lovely hotel locally, and arranged for some very dear frineds and their daughter to join us as a surprise for me. The meal was delish and we had such good fun. I am a very lucky lady.:)

Sorry, I seem to be making up for not typing for some time by rambling now.

Back to OS tomorrow, I've got a list (sort of) and DD2 going for part 2 of a job interview - fingers crossed!!

    Nos Da,

    Jan x
