Made small yorkies, pork shank, roast parsnips, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts and broccoli with gravy for lunch. Strange only three of us - dd is at part time job and other dd visiting friends today.

Dishes all cleared and washed, stuff in dishwasher, kitchen hoovered and sufaces cleaned and double sinks are cleaned and steeping in bleach solution. Had long shower and shampoo, browse on here and loaded washing machine and hung out one load outside. DH is busy in garden and will walk down to shop later for bread and eggs and look for bargains to stick in freezer.

Hug to all especially Molly,Lou lou and Lame Wolf.

  • Eliza loved church, she woke up 20 minutes in and just listened to everything... she loves the choir :)

She did get over stimulated, so now she's sleeping on me instead of in the crib as she was fighting sleep. Lucky we've had the stew and I've nothing else to do. DH is hanging the washing for me :)

Wuvvey that's really nice of you to say, a lot of it is having a good baby, and just feeling so well again after being so pooely x

Miffy my mum says that too :)

A little slot has appeared between church, lunch and the drop-in tonight, so here I am.

The Burns night was pretty good last night. The star was a chap who just MUST have been reading the MSE forums. He came in full Scottish costume. His kilt was a tartan car rug, doubled up, wrapped tightly round his nether regions, kept up by a belt and with the fringe fetchingly just reaching his knees. The sporran was one of his wife's handbags hanging from his belt. Over a whitish Tshirt was a tartan sash that looked suspiciously like a table runner. Topped off with a ginger wig and with his feet encased in thick socks and old work boots he bore a striking resemblance to the caber-thrower, or whatever it was, pictured on the front of the Scots Porridge Oats box. When we were invited to have a go at Scottish dancing he partnered one of the professional dancers, a very strait-laced lady who had been completely expressionless throughout. After about 10 minutes of him fiercely concentrating, flinging his hairy legs about wildly and tossing his fellow dancers about like sacks of flour, this lady was nearly wetting herself.:rotfl:

    A good evening.

Making syrup sponge for the drop-in's pudding tonight. I used to do one for the family when the kids were young, so did a practise one for lunch. Wow! I'd forgotten how delicious they were. 4 minutes in the microwave and the fluffiest sponge you can imagine with plenty of golden syrup in the base - Yum.
I'll make 6 of them and they can cook them as and when they need them.

That's done for my sugar-free diet for another day.:D

JulieG: Well done for getting Eliza used to church. I love to see children in church. The Rev always says, "Let them run around, we've got bouncers from Mothercare on the doors."
Most babies love music. I used to sing to mine all the time, (they were at that uncritical age between 0 and 3. Didn't work when they were 15!). And lots of classical music on the radio and records. No, neither of them turned out to be musical but they were both contented babies.

15 minutes rest to put my feet up.

Just popped in to say thanks for all the suggestions about raised beds. OH will hopefully get stuck in next weekend.

Just got back from the model rail exhibition in Calne. Beef stew not quite cooked yet-don't know what I have done except filled the slowcooker to the brim. Oh well may be beans on toast tonight or I could persuade OH to take me to Al's Tikka Grill...mmmmm.

    Have a good evening all.

    Hi all,

Busy weekend, went out for friends birthday on friday, a few drinkies and a chinese, was very good value, worked out to £10 per head and we were bursting at the seames...

Had a catch up yesterday, all the washing done, house tidied through, used up lots of fridge leftovers last night for dinner, sausage snd mash for OH and kidddlies, and leaks and ham in a cheese sauce for me.

I also made Lemon Pots as I had cream and Lemons to use OMG, they were amazing...:)

Got a few bit and pieces today in town, roast pork and all the extras today, using up some pears in a pear sponge pudding, and made celery soup from some very sad looking stuff at the bottom of the fridge.

Hope everyones okay and having a peaceful weekend xx

PS was thinking about getting a steam press, as iron has finally died - good idea or waste of hard earned cash?? If a good idea, any recommendations?
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    Evening everyone,

Hope you have all had a good weekend, mine has been good but busy so just going to sit and relax and do my cross stitch (which is finally nearly finished) and watch Dancing on Ice tonight. Had chicken and the works for lunch today and have made the left overs into a meal for work tomorrow.

Monnogram could I trouble you for the microwave sponge recipe - we used to make it years ago but I have forgotten the quantities of each now - could just fancy a sponge pudding lol

    Have a good evening all

Nic1 - If I make microwave sponge pudding I just make a normal sponge cake recipe (4oz butter, 4oz caster sugar, 2 eggs and 4oz SR flour).
    Works every time for me!
