BBC i player froze on new HD tv

I have just got a new HD tv and my new Virgin V HD box. I was watching a programme on BBC i player when suddenly the picture froze and I got a message to say that virgin HD was switching off because i wasn't watching it at that time. I had to switch everything off and restart my V box. It is now working again but the interruption was annoying. Has anyone else had this?

So it was not the TV but the VM box. Misleading title.0 -

Not really. i was actually watching a programme on BBC i player via Freeview at the time but the screen froze on me and i had to restart the V box as well to clear the problem.0 -
You can't access the BBC iPlayer via Freeview, and you don't get Freeview on cable.
Do you mean via an internet connection to an internet enabled TV?That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Yes I know, but that's not what the OP was saying. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I can see that, however, they might be getting a bit confused. Not everyone is superbly tech savvy, or know what is what exactly.
The OP has clearly stated that they had to restart their V box to clear the fault. So I'm assuming they are watching iPlayer through their V box.0 -

I realise that I got slightly confused. i am getting used to the new flatscreen after having an old tv. What i meant was that I was watching a programme on BBC i player but not through virgin saved programmes. I was just using i player through the red button. Not sure why the screen did freeze but it hasn't happened again so hopefully it was a one off.0
