Help with changing colour of a logo

Hi all

I've downloaded a text logo from the web and want to change the colour etc but not sure how. Can I do this with Paint or would I have to purchase a programme to do this?

I can't replicate the text as I don't know what font etc.

You should be able to use paint, or you could see if you get on with paint.net

Gimpshop is supposed to be an improvement on Gimp

    http://gimpshop.com/

You could provide a link to the logo to see if anyone can suggest an easier way

Multiple ways of doing it including gimp, photoshop etc. You could even get the font and replicate it.

Just ensure what ever you do to it you have the right to do so, copyright infringement won't be tolerated by some companies and they will pursue!!

Post it so we can see it! :)

I'm sure someone will do it for you too if it's a simple enough job.

Post the logo. Always some willing to try.

Depending on quality of logo, would be best to replicate entire logo. Not that hard to find what it is as well.

  • As far as I am aware without having the source file you couldn't do it in photoshop as yore attempting to edit a 'finished' image. I may be wrong

You can add masks and/or alter the colour balance etc. It's perfectly possible depending on the nature of the image.

Also on that one if you have a few years behind you in Photoshop you can do absolute ANYTHING with a finished image or unfinished, just with the skills you eventually acquire from the best image editing application currently available.
    Of course on legal terms.
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

Why do people ask for a bit of help and then don't bother to come back, happens a lot on here.

Some people choose not to spend their weekends on an internet forum.

That's understandable, but by not checking (takes 5 minutes if that), then it get relegated to page 5, 6, 7, 8 or further and most people when they look at a forum won't look past page 4 or 5 if they even get that far.

Which means there answer won't get any help.
