3 out and more to come! well done.
I haven't bothered this year, ran out of space due to increased tomato production thanks to the flower bucket fairy.
Having only ever grown them outside don't think I got more than 4 in a whole season, so do hope you get better results indoors.
I'm sooooo looking forward to moving somewhere with direct access to my garden and space for a greenhouse and big shed
Just need to wait for DD to be settled and secure in her own place, next year we start house hunting.0 -
My flower buckets are now so wet they have little black flies in the soil
and it's rained again today and will do every day for the next 2 weeks looking at the weather reports.
I have another courgette about to flower, this one's in the ground and I hope the flowers won't rot this time. (the brolly does work and provides my neighbours with something to talk about I discovered today)
Some of my toms have little green toms and all but one has some flowers. My plum toms don't for some reason
I have some flowers on my runner beans, which is amazing as they look spindly, and pulled some more rhubarb which loves all this rain.
The spuds in the ground were growing out over the lawn again due to next door's tree shading out a lot of my garden now. It's a 35' sycamore tree and it's just starting to hang over my garden too
Picked the last 2 cherriesand more yellow raspberries, they're nearly finished now so will have to wait for the autumn ones next.
Strawberries are starting to go mouldy before ripening so grabbing those I can quickly and my calendula have powdery mildew badly, doesn't usually get it till the autumn.
My celery is doing nothing but my leeks are fattening up nicely however.
Time to start thinking about autumn/winter sowing and growing, I can see a lot of my stuff being pulled up early this year.0 -

I do hereby formally request a photo of the aforementioned courgette with brolly. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Annie, you must be in a very sheltered spot, if I tried putting a brolly over something in the garden since May 1st, it would be about 20 miles away by now, unless I'd concreted it inFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

If it stops raining then picture tomorrow, happy to give you all a laugh, but it might work, you never knowLotus-eater wrote: »Annie, you must be in a very sheltered spot, if I tried putting a brolly over something in the garden since May 1st, it would be about 20 miles away by now, unless I'd concreted it in
Whilst its been very wet since I put it up it's not been windy and the brolly one is in a sheltered spot, tub against a brink wall facing the sun, well it would be if I had any.0 -
Super impressed with everyones efforts and i wholeheartedly commiserate those with failures this year. None of my peppers came to anything this year and i love growing them so was absolutely gutted about that. Lots of stuff rotted, bolted, wilted, but there have been a few successes too, thankfully. Loving all the pictures, especially John's and MrBad's of recent pages. Well done on your pond MrBad. I have a teeny one and discovered a frog in it the other day, made my day!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Heavy rain all night and it's still raining.
I don't have enough brollies to cover the garden and hubby didn't think a polytunnel over the whole garden was a sensible idea for some reason, no idea why!0 -
I picked a full sized courgette yesterday. I have about 15 courgette plants still growing. And get 1 courgette.
Dismal.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
The rain has stopped for a bit (thank god) so have had a look at the damage.... I'm feeling a bit fed up now
The slugs have just had a feast inside and outside the greenhouse, I've been trying to get rid of them when I see them but 5 mins later there's 10 more! They love the runner beans...Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
