Pre-war babe I took an elbow off an early galina a month or so ago (it was quite large, over a foot at least) and it's now got 3 trusses of flowers on it0

Get a free www dot photobucket dot com account.
Upload your pics to there.
Once they are uploaded, underneath each pic is a set of options.
Highlight and copy the last option (IMG code) and then paste it into your post here.
Simples.

Aliasojo i am very jealous of your cucumbers and tomato plants, mine are nowhere near that size but they are finally starting to grow
Mr MBE I love your bog barrel ...... Is it supposed to look so pretty?
Fay your garden is beautiful I was going to take some photos of mine, might just take some of the greenhouse instead
Can anyone help me with strawberries question, I have some in a bricked raised bed kind of thing, the previous owners had it for flowers, I have some red strawberries but they are being eaten by little black slug things, would straw help to stop them rotting? How would I get rid of the black slug things?0 -

No, that's a happy coincidence. It'll be even prettier when things start flowering.

Commercial growers use straw so I think that would be ideal. Use slug-thing pellets. Or beer traps if you want to be organic and waste beer. :beer:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Whoo hoo just harvested some strawberries. Drum roll please. we had 3:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
1 for me. 1 for DH and 1 for DS. Brings us to the grand total of 5 now.
Also had 2 small radish over the last few days. Think my runner beans have sprung into life over the last week. They are looking really healthy and starting to grow up my jute string attatched to the frame. Just need some sun now to bring the flowers out now.
I also noticed that when I took the dead flowers off my tomatoes in a hanging basket I have the tiniest tomatoes.:T:T:T:T:T:T

Now that's one I've never heard of before. Can't see we get enough light to keep them alive over winter, have you ever tried it?
As my garlic was flattened by rain and winds, then sat on by cats and tonight had signs of rust, I dug them up. Not bad looking either considering it's a bit earlier than usual.
So now I have a free butlers sink to plant up a little sooner than expected, which is useful.
Also emptied a bucket of spuds and removed 8 snails and 2 slugs from it that had eaten 90% of the haulms, again smaller harvest than expected as they've not been in there long but looks nice all the same.
Blue pellets are working for near the celery, don't like using them but same number there this morning that were last night:cool:
I've been brave and put my 25p cucumber plant outside, it too has blue pellets to keep it company as it has little baby potential cucumbers on it.
Gave the tomatoes a spray with epsom salts, no signs of deficiency I just found the tub from last year and realised that I've usually done it by now. Then an hour later regretted wetting the leaves as the next 48 hours are due to be hot and humid here and the last couple of years that has meant blight around this time.
If it could stay warm and sunny from 3pm tomorrow as I'll be free to tidy, plant and sow and my neighbours should all still be at work so I get to garden in peace0 -

Apparently when they get leggy from lack of light you just take off another armpit, root it and ditch the parent. I'm not sure I could be bothered but I might give it a go sometime. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
