Add another £30 and get the Samsung Galaxy W. It is way better than all the others listed, having a higher capacity battery and a 1.4GHz processor as opposed to a 600-800MHz one, and also having 1.7 GB storage, 512 MB RAM. Stand-by pp to 570 h (2G) / Up to 420 h (3G).Talk time up to 17 h 50 min (2G) / Up to 8 h 20 min (3G).
I have a HTC Desire Z. My wife got the above phone at the weekend and I was tempted to get one myself.0 -
The Galaxy W is £210 but yes I do like this phone. Also the Samsung Nexus S, £200 at Carphone Warehouse.
I don't think there would be a huge difference in performance between them and the Liquid Metal.
The Acer Liquid Metal wild also come unlocked, meaning it will work on any networkThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Add to what? Even if you mean the OP's max £150, I don't think that you'll find W for £180. EDIT: you are right, '3' sell it for £180+£10(?), but it is OOS.Notmyrealname wrote: »Add another £30 and get the Samsung Galaxy W.
Come on... The OP needs just mp3, camera and some internet and games. If the battery life is the main factor it is better to avoid smartphones and look for something more simple. It is way better than all the others listed, having a higher capacity battery and a 1.4GHz processor as opposed to a 600-800MHz one, and also having 1.7 GB storage, 512 MB RAM. For games, the Orange/Tmobile phones have the Adreno 200 which is very old now. The Liquid Metal has the 4x more powerful Adreno 205.
Avoid the Orange / Tmobile branded phones, they are old and cheap. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It's not so much for games (I have the iPod for that). The reason I was thinking smartphone is because in theory it should always be nice and simple to go through my list of contacts to call someone, or dial a number, because of the touchscreen. Every non-touchscreen phone I've had has always had awkward buttons, which were either too small, or just plain weird to press.
And the other reason I would like a smartphone is because of the Android operating system, and the fact that it's open-source, making it extremely useful app-wise.
And also because I would hope that with every (or at least most) smartphones it would be easy to hear the person on the other end of the call, which has also been a problem with past phones.
I like the look of the Vivacity (and I don't mean the appearance, more the specs). I would like to protect the screen though if I can. And I can't seem to find any Vivacity-specific screen protectors. But maybe I could find one of a similar-enough size...0
