Hacked by Vexo?

I've just clicked onto a site I use and a flashing picture came up of a zombie hoding a baby with the slogan 'Hacked By Vexo'

Now these may be silly questions but you'll be used to that from me by now...

1, Will it have harmed my computer just from clicking on the site?

2, How do I know when I can go back onto that site?

I've restarted my computer and I currently have Norton installed doing everything (free trial with my new computer, usually run AVG, Adaware, Spyware doc, Zone alarm)
Just run, run and keep on running!

    1. Unlikely, your AV will catch if it tries to download a trojan, and these idiots are more into the vanity of changing a homepage.

    2. You don't, it's down to the website owner and their ISP how quickly they can re secure the site and put it back.

No, it's an antispyware program which isn't the same as an anti-virus program. Should be fine to run in addition to any AV software you have.

Sorry, I confused things by mentioning that I normally run AVG, spyware doc, adaware and zone alarm on my old computer but I have a new computer with only Norton on it (free trial). I'll download that link thanks thomas01155.

    A) no you don't usually need anything in addition to your AV software contrary to common belief... Infact some AV software has built in anti spyware etc and it CAN cause a conflict. Doesn't always but it can.

    B) the site has been hacked, that means someone has worked hard to get in to the secure back end of the server and has basically replaced the normal content with their delightful message. Why people waste time doing this I don't know, but one of my hosts got hacked a while back - pain for me as I had 3 sites hosted with them and all 3 had corrupted files on them even after restoring from a back up - not to mention lost data... ARGH! But no the hackers aren't trying to infect your machine, they just want to prove they can hack into the server...
