Looking for a mobile device
Hi all,
I am looking for a mobile device which will allow me to access my work email through wifi only, whilst at work on the move in the hotel, or whilst off duty at home. Iphones are a little out of my price range, and blackberries aren't cheap either. There are a few older models, but unsure if they are wifi enabled. I already have a mobile for calls and texts, all I need is an email device, doesn't have to be a mobile, but costs are a very important factor.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am not fashion conscious, but I am practical.

If it is to be wi-fi only (not 3G) then how about an iTouch?
As long as you are connecting to a free wi-fi hotspot, there's no cost at all other than the purchase. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I think ALL smartphones have wifi and among other things do calls and texts. Prices start from well below £100 and very decent smartphones are available for about £100. Unless you want a very big screen I don't see any point in carrying two separate devices.0

I would consider the Samsung Wave 2 if CPW are still doing it for £99.99. You can set how your email syncs and its got a few extra benefits over the iPod touch such as the camera. It doesn't have as many apps though.0

How much functionality do you need?
If it is not really that much, and price is the main driver here, how about something like this for £60?
Some kind of wifi tablet, rather than phone, may be the way to go, if you are not interested in the "phone" element.0 -
Really looking for something pocket size and below £50. I am happy enough to go second hand on ebay, but unsure if blackberry pearl, or the 8700 and 8800 have wifi, as they are selling below £500

By not being a technophobe, can anyone clear up if the various generations Touch all provide wifi and if the older models have reasonable cameras and web browsers?
