Sky Billing nightmare is there any hope

Rejoined Sky on the 16/12/11 having received a half price offer. All seemed to go well and was told would be paying £20.50 a month (Sky enertainment+ and movies). Waited patiently but never got activated so rang them at first opportunity 20/12/11 to find they had tried reactivating the wrong box which they had on record for me. Activated and started working fine.
All if a sudden in January my first bill appeared 2 days before the direct debit was due and guess what it was wrong. I received half price 16/12 - 20/12 (when i couldn't use it) and then at full price from the 20/12 to the 18/02 meaning a bill of about £40 turned into one of £81. i cancelled the DD because it would have failed and informed them.
After a few mails they finally admited a mistake and gave me a credirt of £23.87 and would then cahnge my billing date to the 27th so there was an effective credit left of £18.52. (Payment from the 18-27).
They are insisting though that i still pay the incorrect bill of £81 though and will suspend my account if i do not do so and just seem to be oblivious that it is incorrect and it doesn't matter what i tell them. My reckoning 16/12/11 - 18/02/12 = about £44 minus £18.52 not the £56.13 they are now demanding £81 - the £23.87 credit (even though the credit has been partly applied elsewhere they seem to ignore that fact). I guess there is just no hope with them.

The bill has i see it
Sky Bill
16/12 - 17/12 £2.73
18/12 - 17/01 £41
18/01 - 17/02 £41
18/02 - 26/02 £10.70
Total £95.43
Discounts half price
16/12 - 17/12 £1.36
18/12 -17/01 £20.50
18/01 - 17/02 £20.50
18/02 - 26/02 £5.35
Total £47.71
Total so far £95.43 - £47.71 = £47.72
Credit on account £23.87
New total £47.21 - £23.87 = £23.85
I owe Sky £23.85 which should mean my account is fully paid till my next bill date fo 28/02 where it should then revert to £41 - £20.50 discount.
If i send this to Sky will they have the intelligence to comprehend this or am i wasting my time0 -
Write to them at
Customer Complaint, Sky Subscriber Services Ltd, PO Box 43, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 7DDThe bill has i see it
Try not to write "has" instead of "as". It's very confusing. And type "i" as a capital letter "I". Writing correct English will make your letter easier to understand and lend credibility to your complaint.0 -
Sent off the complaint to Sky by recorded delivery. They received and signed for it on the 26/01/12. Services suspended on the 29/01/12.
Will have to wait now for the outcome of the complaint. Question I have is since they have suspended my servcies due to an error on their part can i see this as a breach of contract and I will not have to give a notice period and pay for the service only, upto the 29/01/12.0 -
Received a further letter dated 31/01/12 from the same location as where my complaint went to saying i must pay the outstanding £56.13 to have my services restored. if i do not then they will terminate my contract and pass on my information to a debt collecting company etc. The debt collection etc is in bold so obviously trying to scare me. How do i go on since they have failed to respond to my complaint as of yet. Which regulator do i got to next and what is the timeframe. Also is it worth writing again to Sky in reguards to the letter they sent me.
