Thought I was perking up a bit but have been thrown off course again. I made contact with careconfidential, who offer an online help service, but all they've done is send a pdf leaflet and refer me to my nearest counselling clinic- 50 miles away. The local CAB is also shut, though I shall try and find another. And the injury has been very painful today0

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment: you have had a lot to deal with and it's understandable.
In terms of post-abortion counselling in particular, have you tried ARCH? http://www.archtrust.org.uk/ I've never used them myself, but they have a counselling helpline open during office hours and then again every evening between 7-10pm. 0845 603 8501 This is their number and all calls to it are charged at a local rate.
Wishing you all the best.0 -

These are bumps in the road but that does not mean you are heading in completely the wrong direction. You may not have asked the right people yet and you shall but only if you persevere. Keep going angel. Keep going.0 -
Sorry to resurrect this thread but I'm exhausted.
I can't find an NHS service that wouldn't involve my GP (I'd feel happier self-referring and thought that might be feasible); I keep getting my hopes up about post-abortion support groups but they all seem to have an "agenda". I don't want to beg forgiveness from God (!!), nor be used as an example to restrict abortion/healthcare provision.
I spent today fighting back tears, from seeing prams on the bus to the dentist checking (before taking x rays) if I could be pregnant.
I'm alternating between not eating and bingeing on rubbish that makes me ill and that I can't even afford. I tried to "redirect" that into buying a new top or something, but I can't afford that either.
I'm scared that I can't get past this0 -
Hun, I'm so sorry you've had to go through so much. If you're not happy with your current GP and don't feel they are offering the help you need have you thought about moving practices? Or are there any family planning clinics in your area - they often offer post-abortion help. The one where I used to live also had counsellors that people could get walk in appointments to see.0
