Ok then, it's not for me but it is something that I need to understand. It would have been helpful, but if not no worries, always worth a try :-)
For the record I am also a tax payer, not that I want to be!. :-/
Not what you said in your earlier post where you said " I am due about £1800", is it?0 -

Just a minor point but for any person who may come back for reference: The claimant must be able to show continuous good cause for the whole period that backdating is being asked for.0

Just to let you know that I got my LHA backdated from the June when I put in my claim to the previous February.
I had an illness which made me unable to take care of my own affairs including claiming LHA
My doctor confirmed this for me in a letter and I got the whole amount backdated to the start of my lease
Hell is still hot (I believe)

Thanks for your help guys, I did say it was for me because I wanted a true opinion, but you will see if you look at my other posts that I work full time, I would rather not, but don't think I could quite manage on the benefits. Maybe when I finish my debt free ride I may be able to relax a little and work less.
That's been a great help, but he had decided not to do this now anyway, least I know for future.0 -
That's not the most intelligent response, so as soon as you can get away with it then you'll be claiming presumably!0

Sorry you have lost me, I am looking for what is acceptable so that I can see if this fits with what has happened, because if it was supposed to have been paid it means I am due about £1800 and that would be vey nice!
Get over it! The rent has been paid and you clearly took no action to find out if you were eligible.
Me? I have lost approx £120,000 in benefit payments because of ignorance of what benefits were available.0 -

Don't claim as I work full time, but I needed to know and I am not about to explain why. Thank's for your advice though!.
