I think if you press the off button and press and hold cancel then turn it on it should empty and allow the door to open. Something like that should work. Check the user guide!

Looks like they changed the interior workings between the models as when I pulled the front off there was just a red blanking plate where your filter must be - it was just a hole into the machine on mine. Looks like I'll either have to hope it's ok, or get the machine out and take it apart. Nothing 's easy is it?!

  • Hi, again,

I think you would be taking on a big job to take the machine apart, I've done some jobs on mine like fitting a new door seal, drive belt and pump, but to get into the drum, I think would be major.

Where can the necklace have gone?

When you think about it, the wee holes in the cylinder let the water through into the drum, where it is then pumped out the waste.

So, even if the necklace did get through one of the holes it is probably lying in the bottom of the drum, I'm sure it wont get into the pump, as there will be some sort of guard on that.

My suggestion earlier was to put a towel in (for a bit of weight) and give the machine a gentle rinse and spin to see if necklace could be seen, heard or dislodged, you don't have to do the full cycle, just a quick couple of spins.

Before trying that, have you checked in the folds of the door seal?

    Good luck.

Thanks again for your reply frugal, I've checked the door seals thoroughly and am 99% sure it got between the seal and the drum rather than through the holes in the drum due to the size of the clasp. I'm hoping now that as you say there is a decent guard or trap before the pump or it's somewhere in there that isn't going to cause a problem.

I'll try the towel idea, and if I can't hear anything untoward I think I'll just leave it be.

    Thanks,

    Paul.
  • Hi

If you don't have a filter on the front then you will have a sump in the hose from the drum to the pump.Yes that means taking it apart! Large clips hold it on.Beware of sewing needles, open safety pins etc !!and hopefully necklaces.
    Good luck
