Second Purse Challenge 2012

Hi all, I would definitely like to join this challenge if that's ok, and have decided to include everything, such as make up and bubble bath that I'm stockpiling. When I went to check the stock that I already had, I was flabbergasted at how much I had already casually accumulated! Over £300! Today I made the first purchase from the shop!
I am hoping to save up for some nice garden furniture, so going to aim for £100 at the moment, until nearer the summer when I see exactly what I want. I just wanted to check though, when I report in my signature, do I only include it after I start taking the amounts out after I have got to £100 in the till?
TIA!2nd Purse #036 £46.69/£50.003rd Purse £30.02

I managed to get some sirloin steak to treat hubby (he's been sleeping rough in a barn for a month ) when he gets home next week! So that was £20  but then the rest of the shopping was around £50....
Bargains i saw were:
Tilda long grain rice (better than half price) £1- 500g
2 medium chickens 1.6kg 2 for £7 (usually £5 each)
Spaghetti 1kg- £1
flora buttery 500g- £1.95 BOGOF.
Please tell me if they are cheaper elsewhereas i will cancel before tuesday and buy somewhere else lol!
That rice is a good price, just goggled for better and couldn't find one. If buying rice in quantity don't forget to decant into sealed boxes and to use the double freeze method to kill off pesties to prevent spoilage. Oh and brown rice/pasta only lasts 6 months, white pasta however is pretty longlife.Muppet_baby wrote: »Hi all, I would definitely like to join this challenge if that's ok, and have decided to include everything, such as make up and bubble bath that I'm stockpiling. The 3rd purse is anything from your 2nd purse that's over £100 as the £100 is your float money for buying up the bargains
I can confirm that Mr T are selling single sheets of jus roll for £1.50... that was one of my "pfft not at that price" momentsno large stores within striking distance to check the blocks for tokens
I was dreaming about tomato tarts as well boo.

Fab work on the spreadsheet, noticed the Ambrosia custard, not much less but they had these in c00p tonight for 85p bogof, as well as the Ambrosia Rice pud for the same price. (400gm tins)
They also had bachelors pasta n sauce bogof but with a price of £1.10 have they ever really been that much!!!!!!!!
being a plank again, it took me a little while to get what shop 'shoes' was on the spreadsheet :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Growing old is inevitable

I just like to keep you guessing
I've updated the spreadsheet with expiry dates and checked all the prices, jolly Mr A and Mr T have played silly beggards with their prices again and Mr A doesn't give expiry dates on offers grrr...
Only ones not updated are Mr C and Mr M as they're not on mysupermarket.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Just thought I would share my bargains for the day- I went into boots with a gift voucher thinking it was £10 but turned out to be £25:)
I was just thinking to myself last night that I'm going to try and use b@@ts as much as possible so that I get points, too. They've just opened a big store at waterloo station, which I pass through on my commute everyday, so always worth checking for a bargain, I figure.
It was payday on Wednesday, so I went to the bank yesterday to take out mine and OH's pocket money for the month, and for the first time took out Jan/Feb second purse money :j Took £40, so that's £10 for the last week in Jan, £30 for the first 3 weeks of Feb and then I'll take £10 for the last week in Feb from next month's pay. That's how I'm working it into my budget anyway (budgeting on calender months, but get paid on 25th).
