  • Morning all :)

I've got my ald1 vouchers and i think i'm going to have to go to an AA type meeting about addiction to buying washing powder & gel  I just hope they have this all in stock when i go as most of the stuff i do actually use :rotfl:.....i'm off to see if i can cancel my te$co shop now for next week as i've hardly anything on there and may as well just go into store and get it to save on the delivery charge :)

I got my approved food order yesterday, so added the 'stock' to my shop....I have:
    • 8 tins of kidney beans (800g) paid £2 for all of them
    • 36 toilet rolls paid £11
    • 16 Apple & banana smoothies (treats for kids) -£3
    • 4 boxes of special K strawberry clusters- £5.96
    • 12 lots of almond flavouring for cakes - £1.49
    • 12 ainsley harriot lemon & mint cous cous (my lunches lol)- £1.98
    • 6 boxes of kellogs cereal for kids- £3
    • 16 bags of country soup mix (accidently ordered slightly too many  they are huge bags too!) - £3.96
    • 4 bags of organic sunflower seeds (snacks) 100g each- £1
    • 12 bags of amoy noodles 300g- £3.98
    • 24 little bags of nuts/seeds mix 45g each- £1.99
I got a few other bits too but they were for my cupboard this month :T so spent around £35 (head hurting too much to add up properly lol)

I thoroughly recommend them have ordered twice now and even though they say everything is out of date most of it is dried food, so i'm not bothered about that. And stuff like chocolate (i ordered a chocolate pictionary game for sister's birthday) was £1.99 and the date it goes off is june or july this year :T so if you haven't had a nose please do they've helped me stock my lil shop right up :rotfl: and if i knew how to add pictures i'd show you :p

    dfw :)

I saw a transaction go through our joint account so asked OH for the receipt (mostly petrol but he always buys a couple of bits). He now can't find it, nor the £5 Mr M voucher he picked up with it either  (Mr M Miles scheme).

He thinks it's in the car so fingers crossed.

Anyway, second purse....I've been playing around with my spreadsheets and trying to figure out how best to make the accounting work for me.
    I'm going to:
*transfer £10p/w on top of existing grocery budget until I have built up a good stock. Will reduce to every 2 weeks then once a month as this happens.
*will count the full £10 as part of grocery budget, as if spent, even if not (no good offers, for example)
*when paying second purse for stock purchases, I will just treat this as a transfer for savings (i.e. no effect on spends/budgets)
*I'm going to take stock of my under-stairs cupboard for other items lurking and included these as free "stock". Will also do the same for my minuscule freezer :rotfl:

Sorry if this seems obvious but I seem to have just got it clear in my head ;)

Yep £11.21 into your purse :) I need to update my shop prices, I think I'm going to go by the best offer price so I only ever pay what I would in the shops too :)

No idea if this counts or not, but I'm about to order a kinder from the rainforest ;) for the OH, I've earnt £85 in vouchers from various point earning sites, and I've found they have a refurbed one in stock for under £80.... so I get a £149 one completely free :) although I don't have the funds to put this into my 2nd purse just yet, I will spread that over the next few months. I've also found a 5 litre extra virgin oil for 50p/100g which I'm going to buy. All free delivery and I will get nectar if it goes through properly this time (never does).

Been to c0op for the 15% of day :D bought for my shop:

    4 x 4 tins heinz baked beans (2 for £3) cost £6 - 15% = £5.10 (32p per tin - original cost 62p )
    1 x 9 roll Cushelle Toilet Roll cost £3 - 15% = £2.55 - 50p coupon off mse board = £2.05 (23p per roll - original cost 50p)
    1 x Comfort Tropical 42 wash (half price) cost £1.76 - 15% = £1.49 (original price £3.52

bought lots of other stuff on BOGOF but it was all stuff i'd only buy on special so not for my store cupboard :o

Have cleared out my corner cupboard when I got back and organised it all so top shelf is 'in use' items, bottom shelf is 'stock' items and arranged in BBD :rotfl: Off to update my stock sheet :D

Gah I hate SMs, turns out the olive oil I ordered is 80p/100ml so I've cancelled that thank you very much! Worked out would only be about 3p cheaper, so I'm going to have another hunt around for something better :)

  • Sainsburys 240 Typhoo Teabags for £2.64 so 1.1p per teabag :D

    Or 2 x 80 for £3.00 so 3.75p per teabag

The 240's have been instore for a few weeks but cannot find the offer online.

The cheapy cheapy Sainsburys ones are brilliantly cheap but have to say I prefer Typhoo.

Iceland have 15 bags of Wotsits or Quavers for £1.50 so 10p per packet (it's a 10 pack with 50% extra free) they had the offer for a few weeks and then it vanished but it was back today.

Teabags - I like a strong brew (as does my fella) so the value types are no good for me, and there are certain 'labels' (Tips & Ph00 for definite, and I can only handy Tet once in a while) that I don't like at all. Used to buy the stores own (MrT come in a red box), but the price shot up :( Spotted some in Lid! last year that were ridiculously cheap (and I was very short on supplies), so I picked up a box to try -and am now known by one of the check-out staff as 'the teabag lady' as I never pick up less than 6 boxes at a time ;) A box of 80 is 27p (pretty certain about that, though I always allocate 29p/box before I head there 'cos I forget which it is!) which means my brews are megga cheap these days :T
