I've totted up the totals for the month of February.
Total grocery budget is £200
We have been living off what we have in stock in the freezers and stores, only buying perishables.
Owed to 2nd Purse
23 meals from the freezer @ £3 £69
26 various items £74
February's £10
Balance in 2nd Purse £20.24
Total £173.24
Balance remaining in 1st Purse £47
Balance left over from January £35
Total £82 This is what I have left of my G/Budget for February / March
I will Transfer £73.24 to the 3rd Purse and add that to the £12.80 already in it. So I now have £86.04 towards my F/Freezer.
£100 is now in the 2nd Purse for bargains.
My total float for all 3 Purses is around £255
Even after paying the 2nd Purse what I owe, my purses are all pretty full. This is what you are all working towards making sure the money is in your purse and not the SM.:)
I wont update my signature until everyone has seen this post.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
2nd Purse ££100Fridge Freezer £300 3rd Purse /£290.940 -
I was in "shoes" yesterday and bought some S@nex shower gel for 70p
If you visit the points machine it is giving 25% off shampoo and shower gel ticket BUT if you opt for the gels and shampoo that are half price it discounts you 25% off the whole price. So S@nex was originally £2.13, 25% off is minus 72p, then half price minus £1.43, leaving 70p
Only problem is you can't put 2 of the same through the till at the same time, you can only print 2 vouchers.
Am going to go back today to see if I can print againDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -

Wow that is impressive Mothership. Can I just ask, do the meals you have charged yourself at £3 each, are they ones you have made up or are they ready meals? Know it's a stupid question as from the little I have been on here, as am sure that all your meals are home made,:D but just intrigued to see that you buy them out of your freezerWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

Ohhhh im so jealous of you all with your DR orders! I want to place one but no pennies until thursday
Very impressed with Motherships figures, this month its seemed to be everytime I get a couple of quid back in my 2nd purse I either have to pay back 1st purse or buy something for stock :rotfl: but come thursday there will be a nice shiny £10 note in there
Have been looking at my grocery spreadsheet and have to say ive gone way off target, im trying to stick to £30 a week (I knew it was ambitious!) but last week I spent £70  so do I take out the £120 at the biginning of the month (though for me thats actually nearly the end of the month :rotfl:) and hope that helps me stick more to budget or will I just spend £120 cos ive got it sat thereSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -

I am very def not an expert cos I have only been trying to use cash only for the last month or so, but last week I took out THIS weeks money too, because I have been ill and struggling to get out, but I have found it slipping through my fingers FAR too quickly!!
I think for ME, just getting money once a week is better, I am sure I could easily spend a MONTHS worth in a week if I had it to hand!! :rotfl:
The other benefit of getting it weekly, is I try and delay it for a few days........
So Friday is my getting cash day, but I try and wait till another day - my aim being that ONE DAY, I will actually be able to go a whole week without getting cash, and therefore I will have a weeks money in reserve.
Does that make sense??Not needing to get cash out for a week is my ambition!
lol

Makes perfect sense to meThats what ive been trying to do as well, Taking it out weekly has always been easier for me due to all my benefits going in at different times of the month, but for some reason money just seems to be running away from me
. I shall try to be much more rigourous I think and maybe I need to up my allowance to £35 until ive got back into the swing of things . . . £30 for a family of 4 a week was always going to be a challenge :rotfl:.
Very pleased as ive got money todayunfortunately there is absolutely no room in the freezer so still cant place my DR order :rotfl:. I need bread and milk today so will go to the bank and take out £40 (£10 for the 2nd purse
) and then know if I get tight by the end of the week, there is £5 reserve still in the bank for bread / milk.
Ok mantra Jakesmum 'I only need bread and milk, I only need bread and milk, stay away from the meat aisle, stay away from the reduced baskets'SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -

Its the D Russell meat from the freezer, I charge myself £3 per item even if its more expensive. I use the money to buy more D Russell meat, I will be placing another order soon, I've left a slot free each month waiting for different offers to come up , so I get a good selection. I've got stuff coming until August. I will post what I buy and what I've got coming if anyone is interested.
Went into M&S this morning and got 6 Jars Green Pesto B2G1F Spent £7.96 from 2nd Purse £3.98 Profit for 2nd Purse
Then went into boots and got 4 Nivea 48hr invisible for black and white Odourarm deunderants @ £1.55 ea (Half Price )
I used my points to get these and will charge myself £2 each for them. Thats £8 profit for the 2nd Purse.
I always try to get half price offers or B1G1F with my points, and anything I get goes straight in the 2nd Purse.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Loving my 2nd purse today
Was moaning at Dh on snday that no-one had the big beef joints reduced, go into c0-op and there they are at £4.99 a kg :j :j Bought one for £8.45 and cut it into 3, with my discount that works out at £2.53 a joint :j :j so will charge back to myself at £3
Have had to completely re arrange my freezer to get them in and it is now 100% choc a block, I can buy no more! . . . really should turn on the 2nd freezer in the shed one day :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -
Going to visit a friend on Thursday and she has a MrA just around the corner. Have been on their website to look at the offers there.
They have Raadox foam bath and Caarex handwash on 4 for £3 offer, so will get 4 of each. Also Doooove shampoo and cond at £1 a bottle. I already have 2 bottles of each in my stock, but DD and I both have long, unruly hair and it is the only thing that tames it. Really begrudge paying £2.50 a bottle when we go through so much.
Have also ordered 2 x 18 packs of Annndrex loo roll from Rainforest at £7 a pack.
Don't seem to be able to hold a balance in the 2nd purse atm. Think I need to buy more perishables like Mothership, that I will use each day, and build a balance from it.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0
