Charging a new phone.....

Have got a K800i upgrade coming through the post, but was just wondering how long I should charge it for the first time? Manuals never advise this, but I generally charge it for 24 hours the first time, use it until the battery is completly drained, fully charge it again, let it drain again, charge it once more then just charge it as and when needed.
My question is, does it need charging for 24 hours the first time? I'd prefer not to have to, cos its another day I have to wait before getting to play with my new toy!!!

Just plug it in when you get it, and whilst you initially 'play' with your new gadget it will be happily charging. I would say that you would be fine just charging it for a couple of hours initially but then make sure you leave it on charge overnight. It is good to let the battery drain and then charge it fully as this should prolong the life of the battery.0

Modern Li-** type batteries mostly don't like being fully discharged unlike previous generations of Ni-** batteries.
Charge it fully when you first get it and recharge before it gets too low.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.

i just wait until the phone has fully charged, then take it off charge and play with it.
i did this with my old k700i and the battery is still going strong after a year0 -
I agree witrh gaming guy, the myth of running the battery fully out is not the norm with a lot of new products, I say charge it for 12 hours and try not to fully run the battery out.0

charged for 12-16 hours, the manual tells you how long. Phone might come up with fully charged, but Ive always been told do keep it going for at least 12 hours otherwise means you will have a longer battery life.Kind Regards
