Converse for wedding shoes, a la 10th Doctor.

If you want a rather dapper look that isn't too out there, how about the tux/converse combo from Voyage of the Damned?

Although I'd not suggest the bride-to-be was a french maid...

Or for a simple change, bow ties rather than cravats, because bow ties are cool.

Masquerade ball, as per The Girl In The Fireplace (maybe a bit more wedding-y...)

Tardis salt and pepper pots on the tables? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0053FKX7C

Depends how full on you want to go - do you want heavy theming or subtle stuff that fans will get?

    Hope this helps!
  • Have to say I'm very jealous, I've been trying to convince my OH to have a Doctor Who themed wedding ever since we got engaged! He won't relent though :(

There are some lovely hand bound books on etsy made to look like River's TARDIS journal that you could use as a guest book.

I'd have a photo booth TARDIS with lots of Doctor Who props in.

And I would definitely do the fish fingers and custard!

    Maybe later ;)

  • There are some awesome ideas there! I would love a Doctor Who wedding but my OH probably wouldn't let me :(

Maybe naming the tables after episodes/characters? Weeping angel statue centrepieces (with the eyes covered rather than the full on scary faces)? Tweed or leather jackets - maybe tweed in the day and leather in the evening? A handstamp machine, Doctor's Daughter-style? Psychic paper invites, maybe done with invisible ink made from lemon juice?

Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")
Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")

Ooh, I like the psychic paper! Mrs halibut is doing the invitations, but I may well combine 2 of the ideas here and include a blue envelope with numbers on it and a "blank" piece of paper inside. Fabulous!

Change of plan. Going to send out blue envelopes with the date, time, and co-ordinates. Some people will get it, others will just be confused! Then in a few weeks, we'll send the proper invitations :D

New series is what we're after, and those are some WONDERFUL suggestions!

It's very tempting to have a bowl of fish fingers and custard for those daring enough to try it! The small cost will easily be offset by the smiles :) And definitely jelly babies and jammy dodgers!

I love the idea of the guest book!!!!

Fish fingers and custard would be vile BUT you can make and cut sponge cake in the shape of fishfingers. Crunched honeycomb or something similar could replicate the breadcrumbs
