We are posting this on behalf of the agency managing the Zurich programme:

    “Hi all,

I manage the Affiliate campaign for Zurich here at Zedmedia. We recently increased the commission rates on the Zurich car and home insurance programme to £120 as a genuine offer to new customers. We have however had to temporarily suspend the Qudico campaign for 2 reasons. The first is because of the Flufff123 entry on Quid blog on 20/2/07. He asks whether he can take out the insurance and upon receipt of the cash back cancel the policy. As you can imagine Zurich have been unnerved by this comment and have chosen to take some time out to implement a stronger set of T’s&C’s. The second issue surrounds the profitability of users choosing to take out separate home contents and building policies.

Those of you who have already taken out a valid policy during February will receive the quoted commission amount. There will however be a validation period in place to assess the fall out and ensure the genuine purchase of these policies. Separate contents & building policies under the same name/household will also be looked into. At the request of Zurich I will be checking cancellations of the policies driven across all reward sites during the period of the increased commissions. This means cash back will unfortunately be delayed, but if you have a valid policy then you will receive the commission.

We hope to have the programme up and running again ASAP and will keep you informed as to when this and the completed validation will be.

    Many Thanks
    Patrick”

I wonder how long the validation period will be?

I'm not having much luck with this one, i've been trying to obtain quotes for both buildings and contents ins separately but it appears that this doesn't work if you live in a flat/maisonette! I've input all my details and selected bungalow to see if it gave me the option of taking each insurance separately - and it did! When i go back and select flat it only gives me the option to take out contents insurance!

Has anyone else experienced this?
Zurich dont do buildings insurance for frlats except in Scotland

    hello all

can someone tell me what is the terms if take out my policies with zurich now to claim 120 through quidco. and then when i have recieved my money from quidco, cancel both policies and take them out again with another high rate through quidco.

could you possibly keep doing this providing there is no cancellation charge.

    thanks in advance
Why not just go down to Zurich, break intoitheir head office and steal all the money?

Under NO circumstances deal with their Indian Call Centre, they are hopeless (and if I get some loony accuse me of being racist here, I will explode, nothing to do with racism, just downright bad CS). Have a look at your policy and it lists a number in the Chief Execs office to ring (IIRC it's a Newcastle number) if you have any complaints. I rang this and they got a lovely Geordie lass to ring me back and something that was nowhere near sorted out in 45 mins speaking to India was sorted entirely to my satisfaction within 5 mins!
    Racist..............
  • Why oh why do people always have to wreck the system? Why couldn't people been happy to take the policies, get the cashback and be happy. To consider getting the cashback, cancelling and then taking the policies out again is just downright dishonest in my humble opinion.

I agree with you ex-spendaholic. I genuinely put a policy through Quidco on the 21st February. I was grateful for the £120 cashback. Should still get it hough as it was legit.

Sorry guys, just found this thread.

Does anyone know when the £50 M&S deal started? I have a car insurance policy with Zurich in January. Am hoping this deal was running then!

    Thanks in advance
