Primus Broadband

Been a customer of Planet Talk telephone system for a few years now without any hiccups..They have just started PRIMUS broadband which I thought i'd try as it was advertised @£16.99 p.m......Apart from the fact that I have only had 2 bills from them(both of which were incorrect and I had to remind them to answer e-mails!!!!).........I have also just noticed that they are charging VAT on both the phone and broadband charges.......I thought all residential broadband was VAT inclusive......Anyone else come accross this??

Can't speak for Primus, but my ISP, Newnet, sends me an invoice monthly for my broadband (not phone), which is collected by dd.
This invoice is broken down to show the vat content.

I went to the UK Primus website (and also used Google) to try and find pricing for their broadband.

I couldn't find it. Says it all, really

To me, it seems they are more geared up for phone deals, rather than broadband?

Thanks for that it sums up exactly what I was looking for.....I have a price list but it was mailed me on telephoned request and again does not mention VAT.Have been checking other providers and nearly all quote prices inc.VAT

You're right! All decent ISPs do actually state openly if their charging is inclusive of vat.
Some, like Ace do quote their prices ex vat, but they do state this. IMO it is still a little misleading though.

Just for comparison i took a quick look at my ISP's Home broadband pricing page.

Newnet actually state this three times on the same page :-

Home Broadband starts at just £xx.xx (inc VAT) per month

Please select the package that is right for you! All prices include VAT

Prices shown include VAT and a discount for Direct Debit payment.

Now perhaps Primus don't have to go that far, but they should state openly if the prices do include vat.

It would be nice if they displayed their pricing openly on a website. I looked for this but couldn't find it.
It would be interesting if someone could drop a link for that?
