I've gone for Vistaprint too. Waited for this weekend when they'd sent me a link for 50% off, so I got 80 invites (with envelopes and postage) for £30. That was paying an extra £5 for a 'linen finish' which i'm hoping will make them look even better quality. Hopefully they'll be as nice as I'm hoping for!0

Has anyone had a go at making their own 'Pocket-Style' invitations?
A friend of mine showed me a gorgeous invitation in this style, which the bride had made and customised and they had put little cards inside about hotels, gifts etc and they were gorgeous!
Just had a look on ebay and even pre-paid ones are coming out pretty expensive (the ones I looked at anyway). Has anyone just bought a template and made their own? Was wondering how easy it would be?

I'm making our pocketfold invites. We're getting the pocketfolds and inserts from PDA Card & Craft. They work out at 32p per invite for the pocketfold, invitation card and three card inserts. (The cost will depend on which type of pocketfold/card you go for.) PDA supplies the pocketfolds pre-scored and flat, so you just fold along the score lines and stick the pocket down using double-sided tape. And, as long as it's not pearlescent card, you should be able to print the invites/inserts on your printer at home.
My design is a bit complicated for our inkjet printer to cope with, plus I wanted rounded corners, so we're paying PDA to print and trim them (an additional 90p per invite, oops). Here's some photos of my prototype (lame phone-quality pics, sorry!): invites. I'm also going to seal the flaps with a velcro 'dot' and add a 'belly band' of vellum around them.0 -

WOW! Your invites look amazing!!! Thank you so much for the info and the website! They're a lot cheaper than the £1.50 each ones (blank) that I was looking at on ebay! Thank you!
Was thinking of sealing with a velcro dot too, thats what the ones I've seen had. Sorry if I sound a bit blonde here but whats "a belly band of vellum"?
Thanks again!!! x x0 -
Thank you!
They've taken me weeks to design, but I've loved doing it. And PDA have been brilliant, as well as being much cheaper than elsewhere.
The belly band is basically a strip of paper that wraps around the pocketfold. Vellum paper is translucent, a bit like tracing paper. Here's the kind of thing I mean.0 -

Thanks, now I understand! I'm not surprised they've taken you ages to do, they/re gorgeous! Really want to make my own, but not sure I'll have the patience! Am confused already by how to go about ordering the pocketfolds, inserts etc and what all the things mean on their website, altho the prices are fab! My wedding isn't until April 2013 though so got plenty of time to work it all out!
Thank you again!0 -
Well I've had another quick look and I still can't decide on what to do - there's just too much going on t be able to concentrate. I have to say tho those stunning invites posted by @MsShopper have made me seriously consider pulling my finger out and making my own - they are stunning, well done!!0

Ms shopper, they are gorgeous!
Wanchai - I love ours from VP - you could easily customise them for a more vintage feel?
