Wedding Invitation Inspiration

Options
Looking for some inspiration for our wedding invitations but on a budget, so some kind souls over on the I wanna buy-it board pointed me in the direction of this wedding board.

Have been looking at Paper Themes Wedding Invitations as they've got 20% off at the moment. Has anyone used Paper Themes before? Or has anyone got any other suggestions?

Weddings in August this year so we're rapidly running out of time to get this sorted - any advice appreciated!

P.S. our intentions were to make our own but we just don't have the time

  • I made mine using publisher, you can change colour on pic etc quite easy. I put a light grey line about a cm out from the border and used that as a guide to cut round. Got card from ebay for about £15 and hey presto! They looked lovey too. It took us two nights, cutting and sticking (we had pocket folds).

That was our plan, but life has just got in the way just recently. I was made redundant in September, I now have a new job but am commuting for 60 miles to and from work so I'm not getting home until really late. My partner has our two young children all day whilst holding down a part time job and we both do freelance work on an evening to make ends meet. It's a needs must situation unfortunately, so I only wish we had a couple of spare nights ..... what I'd give! :) I really wish we could sit down and make our wedding invitations together like you did, it's such a lovely thing to do.

Have you checked eBay? There are some sellers on there who will print and assemble your invites and even print the individual guest names on each one. They work out around 50p-£1 per invite, depending on the seller.
  • A lot of people have used either ebay or designed them on Vistaprint - have you looked at those options? I personally wouldn't pay so much for invites - we used Vistaprint and it was about 20p an invite (we stuck some gems on to make them fancy which hiked up the cost).

I've had a quick look at Vista but the website left me unconvinced on the quality. What was the finished product like?

RE Ebay; it's on my list, it's just finding the time to have a good browse. Any sellers anyone can recommend?

I got vista print ones and they are great. Everyone complimented us on them - have a look on my 'going to pop' thread if you want to see them.

Sorry to hijack the thread but i'm after invites around the same price with guests names printed on them

I have looked on ebay and through google but most are over the £4 each mark

Anyone know specific websites where I can get guest names on for no more than £2 - absolute max!

    Thanks
  • I got my invites off ebay. The seller had a creation tool that popped up with the design you have chosen and then you played about with wording until you were happy.

Then you basically locked in your design and got a code for your order that you then supplied.

I got 40 invites for £27 (including p/p) as well as the envelopes. I went for over kill as needed to send 10 back home as keepsakes, relatives wanted them.

I went for 'silver' as wanted it kinda plain as then added my personal touch to them.

  • I also used vistaprint for my invites. These were my finished product:
