Hard to tell, why not apply and find out? The job training does sound suspicious though.

Surely applying will allow them access to your details like your phone number for your call back etc. My brother has been sent lots of these i wouldnt be too convinced. Just be careful.

I'm suspicious that you can choose your hours for the part time and yet they can quote you the weekly and annual salary. Surely that would depend on what hours you are working?

If you do the 6 days a week (18 hours at 3 a day) they are paying you £22 an hour for what is market value of £7-9 an hour. If you are doing a full 8 hour day they are still paying £10 an hour which is still slightly over the market rates. Their part time wage of £340 is about 4 1/4 days out of 6 which is an assumption that seems presumptive.

It feels scammy to me. I can't specifically say it is but their job posting is just too full of "this is not a scam, honest" vibe and their website is a bit bland and talks the talk but I can see no "real" content as such.

Their press page is full of posts written half in caps in areas that I wouldn't expect like "Wagner Business Group ADDS STEVE NARSUTIS AS MANAGING DIRECTOR IN CHICAGO HEADQUARTERS OFFICE" - Which interestingly doesn't reflect on Steve Narsuitis's Linked in - that says he left the group in 2010, It might be he just hasn't updated it yet but that feels wrong. Although PR Newswire and a few other places did put a post up about it - which isn't dated by year, just month.

At least three companies claim to have aquired this one in their own name : Wagner Business Group ACQUIRES OAK STREET FUNDING - ACQUISITION ADDS SPECIALTY FINANCE PLATFORM TO COMPLEMENT EXISTING COMMERCIAL LENDING BUSINESS - If you google that is found on the websites of Glenlake Advisors Group INC, Wacker Financial Group and Wagner Business Group. I could understand it if it was only one of them and then the rest are lower companies in the groups and its actually one of them that has aquired it but it doesn't seem right as all of the posts are the same. I would have understood if it said "Glenlake Advisors Group, part of the Wagner Business Group acquires..." but it doesn't.

Honestly, this might be a completely above board company. I might just be picking at straws here. I can't find the Massachusetts businesses register (each state in the US usually has its own) to see if they all are part of the same group or not.
  • Personally, I think they are after your bank details.

They will lure people into their trap and get their bank details to pay their 'training wage' into and the next thing you know your account will have been emptied and your identity stolen.
There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....
  • I was thinking of filling out the application form without the bank details......
I got my son to google earth the address, looks like a office block, cant quite make out the name on the front of the building..will see how it goes with the application form minus the bank account details...
will let u know how i get on

    thanks everyone.
  • Hi, I tried to find out more about this company and this seems very strange.
You can't google it by their name, their location seems like an empty building, and reg number is not recognised in any of my searches (but I am not an expert in USA company reg numbers).
No likedin account for the company nor for the signed person (D.R.Johnson). Googling Daniel does not present any sensible results either.
I think, I'll register with an empty account and see what happens, the only thing that worries me is that their "training" software might have a bug to hack to my PC and steel passwords.
I might try to use my tablet for that!

If you know much more about them, please let me know, Ill inform you of my progress.

Normally, if something sounds too good to be true it is not!

    All the best.
  • Hi all,

I have also had an email a few minutes ago and it did start my scam sense tingling.

I have done a Google maps street view on 83 Dan Rd MA and it looks nothing like the pic on their website.

I have replied to the email asking for more details but I feel a 99% chance this is a scam... watch this space.

BTW - Probably don't need to say this but NEVER give bank details to ANYONE without thoroughly checking them out first.

    Later peeps!
  • What can they do with an empty account except for putting money into it? Please, tell me, maybe I am a bit too naive.
    Thanks
  • UPDATE!

After a bit of digging found that the company has added a director named Ryan DeWitte.

Google him using the following terms:

    ryan dewitte adds director

He must be a VERY busy guy if he is genuinely a director of ALL of these companies at once!

Ergo - I guess this is a scam. Sorry people.

I will play with them a while though to find out what they are trying to gain.
