Mobile Phone calls to Egypt

Hi,
Can somebody help me please. I am going to Egypt in April and I have a contract mobile phone with 02 with free minutes cross network. I want to phone home to the UK whilst I am in Egypt and want to use the free minutes to either my home telephone number or another 02 mobile phone.

How do I do this? Do I just dial the usual mobile number whilst I am in Egypt because all international calls are routed through the UK first. So even though the actual phone is with me in Egypt if I dial a mobile phone in the UK then 02 will not know that I am in Egypt and not charge me for using my mobile in Egypt because it will be re-routed through from the UK anyway.

All the articles on mobile phone charges are for dialing from the UK to other countries not about dialing the UK from other countries.

Also I want to use my mobile phone in Egypt to phone my landline in the UK. How do I do this with my cross network free calls.

If anybody knows how to do this could you please let me know.

cheers
Jennifer

Using your mobile phone abroad is very expensive, even for a short call home.

Roaming is a facility offered by the networks that allows you to use your mobile phone with the UK simcard abroad. To enable the roaming facility (or to make sure that it is already enabled) you must contact your service provider. These calls are expensive and usually are not covered by cross-network inclusive minutes. You will also pay for incoming calls.

If your mobile phone is not locked you can try using other special simcard (Oneroam for example; never tryed it myself though).
