travel republic? anyone had problems?

I have used Travel Republic before and had no problems. No matter who I book with I always check that they have got my booking. I have read too many stories from people who have made a booking and arrived to find the hotel has no record of them.

I have booked with Travel Republic quite a few times mainly to Spain, have booked seperate hotels, but also booked flights, transfers and hotels with them and also had a great experience.

I used them regularly but last time I did have a problem. I booked and paid for accommodation then next day got an email from them saying that accommodation was not available. Rang them and they said I could book something else or get a refund. The person I spoke to just gave the impression she couldn't give a stuff either way so I opted for a refund.

It did put me off using them again, I have to say.

I am also on the point of making a booking with TR. I have only ever used the main tour operators before but have lost the will to live recently with Thomas Cook and the deal on TR looks good.

I have booked accommodation only and also a dynamic package with them and didn't have a problem.

However my brother is in Gran Canaria at the moment and has been put in accommodation one star less than he booked. They were no help at all on the phone so he is hoping to sort it out when he gets back.
