In Poundland everything costs £1. Personally I buy more things in the 99 p shop.

Is that because it's cheaper? ;)

I don't know if this is the correct thread...but I need to vent my annoyance!

We have a charity shop which advertises that 'everything is £1', so I was passing the other day and spotted a nice dolls pram which would have been great for my wee girl. I got the bus home, as I'd a lot of groceries, then took said wee girl away back to the shop on the bus. I gave her her £1 and all smiling and excited at getting the pram, she wandered up to the counter to pay for it. Thats when a woman from the back came out and said it was £8!?!

I know it's a charity, and very deserving one which I'd gladly give my last pennies to, but surely being a charity doesnt exempt them from the laws that govern pricing? I didn't have £8 for the pram, so me and my dejected 5 year old came home empty handed :(
    skint but in luv :kisses2:
  • Unfortunately they can price the items any way they want. A lot of £1 shops usually have a "multi price" section, where the bigger items cost more than £1

  • We had S Club 7 CDs in this week, lol. Not getting too much in over the next week or so re: sound and vision, as there's millions of stuff upstairs. (btw if anyone in the Ayr area needs the small photo paper, I've got five boxes of the damn stuff, please take it away!)
