You sit an exam...you pass...you can collect the Cert. from the place you studied in...why didn't you?
Vic, not as straight forward as your making it out to be. I passed 4 subjects was given 4 provisional certificates and was told originals aren't ready for collection and that they can be collected once I receive a letter through post.
Your missing the point I didn't get a letter through the post like my girlfriend and other class mates. It could have been that my letter was
A) not processed at allstolen for identity theft
C) lost in post
Provisional certificates are like rough copies if you like to call it they are not official certificates at all.
Things are done differently today compared to when you studied, I'm guessing you studied way before me.
Do you understand now?0 -

And we wonder why employers are recruiting from abroad ...
I disagree with you, how can a college use one method to inform students about their certificates. Their whole process is shambles they receive the certificates and should rightly inform students. In school I passed my subjects got my certificates and that was it. The College I went to had a duty of care and failed to follow set procedures.0 -

I'm taking responsibilty now and standing up 4 myself. Well they should use plenty methods of communication hence I wouldn't be in this situation...0

Plenty? So they phone you...you're out getting your nails done. They email you too and it goes in your spam/junk folder. They send you a letter and it goes astray.
You know you have passed your exams and are expecting to collect a Cert. saying so and you miss a letter telling you to...and you do what?0 -
I collected my GCSE certificates two years later because for some reason the university wanted them.
When I got into college doing my Alevels I figured the GCSE certificates were meaningless so I never collected them.
Don't be too harsh with the OP. when you pass your GCSEs/Alevel you get the preliminary reports confirming your marks and grades, but it's actually a long while before they send out the certificates. In many cases by the time they have the certificates at hand you're so busy with your life and getting on with the next stage that you forget about it completely.
So it's an easy mistake.
I would have expected the college to keep certificates for a couple of years, how much space does a bunch of certificates actually take?
They probably still have it, but can't find it, so they're using the time gap as an excuse for their poor filing to get you to cough up for a reprint.0 -
gvw121 don't take it personally, this board is full of poor peasants who are broke and that's why they're mean.0
