    I own within 1 mile of the Thelwall viaduct, and I am more than happy for someone to, within say 8 miles of where I live, expand Manchester airport, build a windfarm, a recycling plant, hell even a nuclear power station, or anything else that is of benefit to the country as a whole.

    Terminal 5 doesn't seem too bad to me - as one who's dropped off or picked up passengers, dunno about as being a passenger though.

    I think the long term plan is to replace the other terminals one by one, T5 having provided the capacity to allow one of the others at a time to be completely vacated and rebuilt.

    Wrong choice. You're a fool. Only a fool supports the tyranical notion that the rights of individuals must be subsumed into what someone else decides is 'the common good'.

    Still, you're in plentiful company. Those who supported Mao, Stalin, Hitler... they all knew how to make the trains run on time 'for the common good' didn't they?
