someone said "why can't they build the airport in the middle of the country instead of London" - because people want to go to London.0

Not sure, just got it from a friend as a text and it fitted right in after bendix' & FTB's posts even though completely OT.It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.
Johnny Was. Once.
Why did he think "systolic" ?0 -

I own within 1 mile of the Thelwall viaduct, and I am more than happy for someone to, within say 8 miles of where I live, expand Manchester airport, build a windfarm, a recycling plant, hell even a nuclear power station, or anything else that is of benefit to the country as a whole.
Because i'm not a selfish nimby b4st4rd.
It's not me that thinks money is everything, it's you, probably worried that your house price will drop. Well boo hoo.0 -

That is one of the most dangerous political philosophies in the world - usually espoused only by fools and tyrants.
And yours is one of the most dangerous political philosophies in the world, usually espoused only by people who live in a small geographical area with a complex planning system and who stand to lose money on the house they bought because of development that will be beneficial to the nation as a whole.
Most dangerous political philosophy in the world?!?!?, HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
What planet are you on?
Is liking / disliking development of a runway more dangerous than than the North Korean dictatorship??!?!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA, I wish i lived in your world pal.
UK - we want to build a runway so we will pay you market price for your land.
NK - we are building a runway, you will lose your home and get nothing, if you resist we will send you to camp 22
Yes mate, my philosophy is one of the most dangerous in the world. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA0 -

Yes, you didn't quite understand what I wrote, did you?0 -
Everytime I arrive at Heathrow I feel a huge sense of shame and remember when my wife first visited the UK and landed there. She looked around a bit, saw how shabby it is compared to the airports she's been used to in her home country and said 'But, I thought England was a rich country.'
Terminal 5 doesn't seem too bad to me - as one who's dropped off or picked up passengers, dunno about as being a passenger though.
I think the long term plan is to replace the other terminals one by one, T5 having provided the capacity to allow one of the others at a time to be completely vacated and rebuilt.0 -

OK utopian map, explain why my political philosophy is the most dangerous in the world and makes me a fool or a tyrant.
I agree with development and I don't care if its within shouting distance of my property, that makes me a tyrant.
Yes, I'm a tyrant.0 -

Yes, I'm a tyrant.
Wrong choice. You're a fool. Only a fool supports the tyranical notion that the rights of individuals must be subsumed into what someone else decides is 'the common good'.
Still, you're in plentiful company. Those who supported Mao, Stalin, Hitler... they all knew how to make the trains run on time 'for the common good' didn't they?0 -
Yes I'm a fool for wanting things to improve as a whole, even if they might be of detriment to me as an individual. What a b4stard I am.
I'm proud of my new tyrant status. I'm probably going to get on the cover of Commie Tyrant Monthly.
and are you aware of the full story behind the trains running on time? He (not someone you mentioned) only made one train run on time.
EDIT -Still, you're in plentiful company Hitler... ?
can you give me an in depth explanation of how I'm the same as Hitler? I'd like to know that.
How is being positive to development of airports, wind farms etc the same as genocide and crimes against humanity?
C'mon Badger, I'm all ears.
Is Boris Island comparable to Auschwitz? That's the sickest sentence I've ever written, but you were the one suggesting it. I hope you're proud.0
