Hi,

I'm not the typical student, i'm in my final year and have purchased a house. Unfortunately this has meant that i've had to juggle money an amazing amount to remain in the black, thus i applied for a credit card, i got one but the interest free offer runs out on it, so i applied for the Nationwide 0% for 9months card. I've had a long relationship with the Nationwide and my mortgage is with UCB. Because i've had this long relationship with Nationwide i put down ALL of my previous address - and my all i mean 5 in the last 4 years, hey thats what students do they move house all the time.

This has obviously lead Nationwide to reject my application, technically i could put down my parents address as my home and my new house even though i haven't lived at home in 5 years, but is this unethical or is it breaking the law, it would just help me look a bit more stable and my interest free period is running out desperately need a 0% card!

Regards

J.

I think you may get more help on the Credit Card board with this one, so I'll move you across.

    Good luck :)

You should use the address at which you're registered to vote, ie on the electoral roll at.

I didn't know Nationwide did a credit card with 0% on BT's. Are you sure you've read the small print?

if your a student without a job, i think you have done very well indeed to get any sort of credit card with 0%.

i think any sort of rejection is likely to be because you're a student with a low income rather than you moved house many times.

also although it makes good sense to get the cheapest interest possible, most (i know not all) CC require you pay a fixed minimum percentage of the total each month, the APR doesn't affect the repayments much in the short term.

did you ask nationwide why they rejected you?
