carephone warehouse terrible experience.

I just ordered a phone on their website but entered wrong delivery address. so I rang up 1 hour later to correct. but the guy didn't help me to change the address but cancel my order and do me a new one! then he said the phone will be with me on Tue. I said no.....just cancel it, i don't want a new order. I'll do it online myself as i can have some cashback....then he said there's no point, as i won't get my phone because it's out of stock.....(he just said my phone would arrive on tue)i said whatever.....
then i rang up later, double check if my order's cancelled, that guy was helpful to start with but after i said i just wanna do it online, he just become totally funny with me, as i'm some sort of criminal....
 not happy with them. I used to think they are brilliant!
anyway, just be careful when you ring them, I guess they are on commision bonus or something, so if they do you an order, they get money.....so make sure they didn't do you a new order when you enquire or you never gonna get quidco cashback.....

Why do you keep on saying to them you want to do it online???
Just cancel it and do it. They dont need to know the rest!0 -
CPW staff get £10 commission for a new contract no surprise he didnt want you to order it online you get his commission on quidco!!!!
I used to work for them awful companyIsn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
If you are talking about Charles Dunstone I can only repeat what I have been banging on about for ages. Dunstone does not care one iota about his customers. Read the five fundamental rules that CPW claim to abide by. You will find them on the website. I tried complaining for ages and they just fob you off. It is a pity they dont use the same energy to maintain good relationships.
I have written to four directors without acknowledgment. I think that says it all.0 -
I had a similar experience with CPW. My order (and another by my wife) were still at stage 1 (being processed) after 24 hours where as I was expecting delivery by then. So I phone them up and was basically told that our phones was unavailable but the salesman could locate two phones on their system and have them shipped to us by the next day. Before I got an opportunity to say no (as we would lose our quidco commission) he had cancelled our orders. I was not happy to say the least, however to cut a long story short, we ended up reordering as we did not want to loose the cash back deal on offer with the phones.
I then decided to look through the CPW website and found that CPW have a “in stock guarantee” so our web order would have been filled. Also, their corporate web site says that CPW is based on “Five Fundamental Rules”. So I decided to quote some of these in an email to Charles Dunstone (CEO), as a shareholder and a customer and point out that I was very unhappy with the whole experience.
If anyone else has had similar problem with CPW then please add to this thread so that I can highlight this thread if CPW ever gat back to me (email was sent last Wednesday).
Thanks:wave:

oh, my god! I thought i was only the odd ones....I always thought carphone warehouse had a good reputation. but......well,I think the commision things nowaday is getting worse and worse, staff manipulate customers, and telling lies....and they could even lying in front of your face when you even know their tricks. I think some sort of action should be taken againt that really.0

Those of you who had the unfortunate task of calling the carphonewarehouse customer service line, did you manage to find a freephone or landline number from https://www.saynoto0870.com?
I'm about to order a new mobile from them...if they don't pay cashback, I dont mind haggling on the phone to them, just as long as it's not one of those 0870 or 0845 numbers.

I took my sons mobile phone, which he had paid £199 for, back into the shop as he only purchased it 3 weeks prior and was told "you wouldn't expect to take a car back to a garage and exchange it if it stopped working" . Now there's customer service.0

In April 2006 my son cancelled a contract with Orange at the CPW. However, CPW did not cancel this contract. Since June 2006 when CPW first said that they would sort it out the only thing that has happened is that my son has had a bad credit record. We have visited the local shop on TEN occaisions and sent THREE letters to the CEO. In late December 2006 CPW said that if we faxed the credit report to them they would sort it out in 7 working days. On the 5 Jauary 2007 we were told by CPW that the error had been corrected. We have had many E-mail's from a member of thier staff and still we have not had an end to our nightmare. No one at The Carphone Warehouse has really tried to help. All we have ever had is "Yes we will deal with this problem"
They are the worst company that we have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
I hope this saves someone in the future.
The moral of the story is Carphone Warehouse are not interested if there is a problem.:mad:0 -
Don't worry about the name of the person. If ANYONE from ANY cpw company offers a deal over the phone DON'T TAKE IT; if they won't put it in writing first they almost certainly won't honour it.0

The CPW reps will lie through their back teeth to make the sale.
I had one of these idiots try to convince me I had to buy the phone from him over the phone because the shop will rip me off. I started to laugh and he really got angry, so I laughed some more and I could hear his brain cell expand.
I asked him why he felt the need to lie , he muttered something, but he bored me so I put the phone down on the stupid little idiot.0
