From UK to Oz

Im selling an item and a bidder from Australia has put in a bid and its the only one so far and it may win, but there is no way I am sending the item to Oz so I have contacted bidder saying he wont ever get it (politely).

It does actually say UK only postage.

Is their anything else I should be doing to make sure he cannot demand the item if he wins that bid?

Thanks people

You can't just refuse to send him his item if he wins, all that will happen is that he will start a non performing seller complaint against you and neg you.

You should set your seller preferences to exclude bidders from countries to which you will not ship, then he can't bid. meanwhile cancel his bid.

No need at all to refuse to sell or get too worried.

why won't you send it to oz?
is it particularly big or heavy?
I have never had problems sending stuff there, as long as your buyer picks up the postal charge, what's the problem?

    Soo

Is there another way to do this other than on the 'list your item' page?

    Can OP cancel the bid?

OP, If the buyer does win make him aware that he will have to pay more postage for the item. Unless its going to cost a fortune to send I don't see a huge problem.

Its a heavy item and postage would be about £100 to send, also It does state where item will be delivered to UK only, how do I cancel a bid?

in future setup your listing so only bidders who live in areas to which you post can bid
  • erm op did say "also It does state where item will be delivered to UK only" so how did he bid?

I took this to mean that the OP had just said this on their auction listing, or in the payment instructions, rather than meaning they had set their preferences to exclude bidders from outside of the UK. In which case, anyone would have been able to bid on it as there was no actual block in place.

because just putting it in the description won't actually block someone doing it
you have to make it a condition my selecting it in your bidders preferences
