They need some way to pay for all the switching bonuses! And they still pay one of the highest rates available.

Halifax charges £1 a day, so Santander is just matching them.
  • Simple answer to this is to not go overdrawn and then it costs you £0.00 and Santander make £0.00.

If you pay these astronomical price check a mirror for the apportionment of blame.
  • well the firm rips up your contact and drops your wages what else am i supposed to do
  • There are some good things with this account, such as high credit interest, included travel insurance and a fairly good on line set up. I am just wondering if it is worth opening a Halifax account and paying in £1,000 a month, earning the £5 a month reward, then transferring the money into Santander. Any charges can be paid by the reward. Once set up with direct debits etc it should work well unless there are any terms preventing this.
Remember a bank will always lend you an umbrella, they will always take it back when it rains
  • coventry £250 interest-free overdraft & VISA debit card which is roughly what im overdrawn or just under

If you show you are constantly overdraw they will not have you.
  • First Direct also £250 interest free as long as you pay in £1500+ per month.
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

If you do like it please hit the thanks button.
