I'd like them to collect the shoes which incidentally I had delivered to my 72 year old neighbour who is at home all day. They were indeed delivered by courier. Do I not have this right?

    Have you asked them yet?

You have to 'trundle' and you have to 'lug'. It's only a pair of shoes! Get things into perspective. Yes, it's annoying but it's hardly a huge hardship yet you seem so angry about it.

Let's not leap down the OP's throat! If they had taken delivery of something they didn't like or didn't fit well, I'm sure they wouldn't mind making some effort to return the shoes. But in this case the retailer has made a clear mistake and is asking its customer to go out of the way for it to be rectified. Of course you'd be annoyed! If I have to go to the Post Office, it's a walk down the busy highstreet in central London followed by a loooooong queue. Just to fix someone else's mistake? Come on.

OP, as some of us have said, your rights are to have the problem recitified and your responsibility is to make the item available for collection. Contact the company and tell them where you and the shoes will be, so the courier can collect them.

Yes I'm annoyed! The shoes aren't fit for purpose through no fault of mine. To go to the Post Office means taking time off work - I work for the NHS so it's a bit tricky. The other option of going to the store is also not ideal. When I've finished work, the last thing I want to do is go to Westfield :(
I mentioned my neighbours age because she has mobility issues and can't get out much and is kind enough to take parcels in for me. It looks like I'll have to go to Westfield to return them. Many thanks to all who responded to my query.

    Why?

Have you asked the seller to collect them from your neighbour's?
Assuming you neighbour is happy with that?

Remember that Westfield is open to 10pm most nights, so that may help too.

That's the drawback of online shopping...you need to be aware of and weigh up returns issues when ordering online. I used to work for the NHS and could easily get to a PO 6 days a week for returns. It meant going in my lunch hour. Are you a paramedic/ambulance driver by chance?

So how does working for the Health Service make it tricky getting to a PO?
