Hi everyone! As I've only been card making a year please feel free to add to my comments below with your tips and ideas!

Jem- you will need to start with a base. You can search for an A4 card blank to buy or make your own. You might want to consider getting a scoring board or a guillotine that you can also use for scoring- these will give you nice crisp folds on both card and box. If you are scoring your own card you will need a fairly heavy A3 card (I would say about 300gsm- hopefully others can confirm this!).

Once you know the correct terms for things you can find out a lot from a google or you tube search with the term plus tutorial. If you have free view or sky you can pick up tips watching create and craft tv if you can resit the urge to spend (it is a shopping channel)

Do you have any ideas of the colours, style, type of image etc you would like to use on the front of the card? If you were buying one in the shop what would you get? Hopefully we can help you recreate a look you like.
