not got time to do all of the ones ive been to in detail but in brief
Brynowen, Borth, West Wales - didnt like it here, had to park the car a distance from the caravan which is a pain when you have 2 young kids and all their baggage (travel cots etc). Pool was cold and filthy.
Trecco Bay, South Wales - we love it here, nice warm pool with slides/flumes and toddler end, great entertainment, good kid club in the day, can park next to caravans, staff friendly, direct access to beach:j, fish and chip shop is awful tho:(
Greenacres, North Wales - my mum has been with my disabled dad, they had a great time, enjoyed the entertainment, lots to do in area
Pontins, Brean Sands - truly truly awful, hate it, went once and came home a day early from our 3 day weekend, filthy appartment, inch thin mattress on double pull out bed, bathroom was dirty, entertainment ok but a lot of chavvy people about (perhaps i'm just a snob!!..................)
Lyons Robin Hood Bay, North Wales - lovely site, the best of a bad bunch in that area!
Butlins Minehead - Standard accomadation ok if you dont spend much time in it, great entertainment, lovely pool, cannot park by the apparments so have to lug all your stuff up, there are trolleys however if you can find one
We always now go to Trecco which is about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive from home. We go for the weekend in April via the sun0 -
Hi Everyone
I have done a couple of Sun Holidays and have 2 booked up for this year, but I will give a quick overview on each park.
Parkdean - Looe Bay, Cornwall
A quiet park, very clean, medium size. The caravan was nice and clean, we did upgrade though when we got there, but it was free, which was very kind of them. Entertainment was good and the kids loved it. Looe and surrounding villages are beautiful, may be a little difficult for disabled as Cornwall can be hilly, but lovely area. I recommend taking a little boat journey out of Looe Bay if the weather is nice. The indoor kids play area was abit dark and dingy though, but the park was nice.
Parkdean - Warmwell, Dorset
Excellent Park, because you stay in Lodges, not Caravans, and they are very spacious. We had a 2 bedroom standard lodge and the bathroom was huge! 2 good size bedrooms, heaters in the rooms, nice size kitchen, it really was a home from home, and we would like to definately go back one day. There is a ski slope on site that you can use for an extra charge, swimming pool was OK, abit cold and the slide was very slow, but my 6 year old liked it.
There is also an indoor roller skating rink, you hire the skates but they are very cheap, about £1.50 or so, and there is no time limit.
The site is very pretty, you can go fishing (with a permit) and there are some nice walks around there, kids also liked feeding the ducks. Not far from Weymouth either, about 8 miles and very direct route so getting to the beach is easy. Not far from Dorchester either.
The staff here were also very helpful, my Daughter left her DS in the lodge and security got it back for us, we were very thankful for that.
Parkdean - Croyde Bay, Devon
Again, a nice park, you can park your car right next to your caravan which is nice, and the area is lovely, although a little quiet. The beach is literally opposite the park and it is fantastic, so it's great in good weather. If you had bad weather there is a fab swimming pool at Croyde with a lazy river, kids liked it alot.
Entertainment hall was a good size and the Troupers always put on a good show.
This park was definately the quietest location though, you have to drive a fair few miles to go anywhere lively. Ilfracombe is nice though, (about 25/30 mins drive) we took a good boat trip out from that harbour too.Whoever said 'Money doesn't bring happiness' isn't using it properly.0 -

Hi,

We went to Butlins in Bogner Regis with Sun Holidays last year and loved it.
It is a short walk into town so we were able to get out and get to Morrisons very easily. The entertainment was quite good and my 11 year old son found lots to do and loads of other children his age to play with.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Park Holidays Solent Breezes:
1. If going, make sure you take a decent road map! We had only a sat nav, got hopelessly lost and ended up 'green-laning'. Once you know where it is it's easy enough to get to.
2. Staff were great, polite and helpful.
3. Caravan was smaller than we usually get at Haven (10' wide and quite short) but only a couple of years old. Fairly clean but lots of dust on top of the cupboards!
4. Parking was next to the caravan. Quiet location a very short stroll from the amenities.
5. Pool was outside and small, but clean.
6. Bar was small, more of a pub and the patio/garden wasn't much to write home about. Hovever, the view was incredible!!
7. Entertainment was essentially the same every night. Great if you have under fives and like bingo..
8. On site laundedrette.
9. Site was generally well maintained.
Scores..
Easiness of location: 7
Suitability for elderly/disabled: 5
Amount of attractions on site: 4
Local things for people to do: 8
Good for kids, toddlers to teens: 6
Cleanliness: 8
Helpfulness of staff: 9
General marks out of 10 for whole experience: 7
View from bar: 10
That's essentially it. Stunning views, great location but small and very quiet.
Have also been to a number of Haven Parks in Dorset/West Sussex and also Bunn Leisure, butlins etc. Can provide a brief review of these if anyone is interested..
PS: Don't confuse Park Holidays with Park resorts. Two seperate companies.0 -

Went there on a Sun deal about four or five years ago and concur. However, one time we stayed in a bronze chalet and hated it (dreadful!)
Hotel accomodation is wonderful, though!!0 -

Highly recommend Looe as a location but watch out for the seagulls - the biggest in the country and when they do their Michael Flatley moves on your caravan roof oh boy do you know about it! Once you know what it is it's ok - it's impossible to park in Looe due to the tiny streets but there's a big car park just over the bridge which isn't too much of a walk but lots of cobbles/uneven surfaces so not particularly wheelchair friendly but the prettiest places never are!0 -
Combe haven- Hastings
Easiness of location- bus stops outside, and quite easy to find by car. Not walkable to the seafront, but only a short drive and loads of parking... but get there early as spaces soon go!
Suitability for elderly/disabled- can't comment as i can't rememmber, sorry. BUT, very hilly site, even the fittest were out of breath by the time we got to the top!!
Amount of attractions on site- perfect for kidsDecent pool, and if its high season a nice outdoor pool with huge slide. Nice park , swings etc were clean & litter free. Amusements, clean and loud! Evenings were quite good, my son loved the panto & disco nights. Shame they don't do bingo later though, not everyone wants to sit quietly through it just to get a seat before showtime. Get there early... seats go fast!
Local things for people to do- loads! Hastings seafront is great, outdoor rides, cycle park, nice fish n chip shops. the smugglers cove is a good trip out, but not for younger ones as it's inside the caves. Went for a day out at Drusillas Park, not too far away, and perfect for under 10's... packed but we loved it!
Good for kids, toddlers to teens- We took our 5 year old, plenty for him, and we saw a lot of teens about. years ago I took my early teens, they were about 13ish, and they loved the smuggler coves, the history, battle castle etc.
Cleanliness- Very clean caravan
Helpfulness of staff- very good.
General marks out of 10 for whole experience- 9/10.. would go again0
