No scans/appointments here... None for the next 2 weeks!

However, I am house bound for the first part of the day waiting for changer, then talking to a friend on Skype and possibly going to Trafford to meet another friend after work (her, not me!).

Our, and on my cleaning app the focus zone is kitchen, dining room and living room. So I guess I will be busy!

Got to tear myself away from my big pillow and get dressed for Physio at 9. According to OH comfortable clothing is not Pjs :-(

Really? My OH would live in his if I don't drag him out to somewhere!

    Morning all,

Goodness, you lot can talk. It's taken me ages to catch up on all last night's shenanigans!

On the subject of age I will be 34 at the end of this month. I'm quite pleased to see I'm not the oldest on the thread (thanks Goppers!). When I first saw my GP about being pregnant he called me an "elderly mother"! Flippin cheek. However my midwife assures me you are not classed as elderly until you reach 37 which made me feel a little better.

Bellola on the subject of office chairs, I had terrible problems with mine as I was getting some coccyx pain and it actually hurt to sit down. I got a referral to my works occupational health department in the end and they got me a new chair (they said the old one was totally unsuitable, even for a non-pregnant lady) which is fully adjustable and has a nice, soft memory foam seat. It might be worth asking your work if they can sort you out a new one if you're having problems.

I'm afraid I can't join in the facebook chat as I think I must be the only person in the world not on facebook. I might be the only one on here from the West Midlands too - you seem to all be in the North or near London.

Emsbet, I'm so pleased for you that are feeling movements but I have to admit to feeling slightly jealous. I am 17+3 today and haven't felt anything yet (apart from what I think was just gas). I suppose that's normal and being on the slightly larger side I think that might make a difference too. I'm so impatient though, I want to feel my baby!

Good luck for all the scans/appointments today.

    Morning all,
I haven't been around for awhile so have only skim read some of the posts I've missed.
Congratulations to everyone who has had babies :)
Labour vibes to all who want them, best wishes to everyone with appointments/scans and I hope everyone's feeling well.

The last couple of weeks have been a bit strange/tiring - I cannot remember when I last posted so apologies if you've heard it before.
Due to my severe headaches I keep having blood tests to check for pre-eclampsia - I look like a pincushion as my ONE usable vein is now looking depleted. Everyone's pretty sure I don't have it as I have no other symptoms but all the women in my family had it with their first child so the midwife/obstetrician is a bit paranoid.

My OH has spent the last week in bed sounding like he's trying to cough up a lung. He's feeling better which is good, :) not least because he started a new placement this week which is already going to be disrupted enough by bank holidays, antenatal classes, mock and real exams and paternity leave without him being poorly as well.

I don't seem to have caught it, at least not in the same way as he has for which I am very grateful. But I haven't had an unbroken night's sleep for about 3 weeks :-( The last few days it seems like someone is sitting on my chest when I lie down and if I lie on my right side I feel like I've got something stuck in my throat and I cannot breath properly. With lying on my back/front out, I'm stuck lying just on my left side which is starting to ache.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get sticky phelgm off my chest? I'm trying to cough it up but coughing hard has always hurt my head, making the headaches worse and now with baby my abdomen hurts as well.

I spent last week bursting into tears for no apparent reason which makes my OH feel mean because I cannot explain why - I'm putting it down to hormones/lack of sleep.

And to top things off I got a call from my mum on Friday night to say that my grandad had died. We're not close, haven't seen him for a number of years but with my hormones all over the place I burst into tears. No one is yet sure when the funeral will be because they're waiting for the coroner to decide whether a post-mortem is required. I want to go but it's going to be a logistical nightmare. I've got my antenatal classes starting this week and next week I have a scan and obstetrician appointment to check baby is growing OK after everything else which seems to be happening so I really don't want to cancel.

The current idea is to have the funeral on the 12th if the coroner releases the body on time which at least would mean I could go even though it'd be a long day - it's going to be in Oldham so would need to set off at 7:30am to get there for lunch time and get the 8:30pm train home. I'd still have to cancel an appointment but it isn't an urgent one and could be rearranged.

It just feels like everything is happening in the next two weeks - funeral, midwife appointment, antenatal classes, more blood test appointments, scan and obstetrician appointment.

On the plus side I did hand my OU assignment in on time so don't need to worry about that anymore, just start preparing the next one.

Sorry for the long post, felt the need to babble.
    *hugs* to everyone.

Elelyn apparently a lot of ladies mistake early movement for gas so that may have been something. I think it most common to start to feel things around 18/20 weeks. Hopefully you'll start to feel something soon.

Yay for Emsbets acrobatic baby. It does sound like movement my dear. How exciting!!

MrsManda - sorry to hear you are going through a tough time. Sometimes life just piles so much on us that it's a miracle we cope. But I've no doubt you will and it will all be worth it in the end. I cant advise on the phlegm as it's not something I've had but I'm sure someone will help.

Gin - another busy day for you. I can't wait until your focus zone is 'you'.

Good luck with the scan Goppers. I have the madwife at 1545 so that's something to look forward to. How I love being prodded and poked!!!!

Good morning also to Bellola, Elelyn, Triangle and LMMS.

And if I've forgotten anyone I do most humbly apologise.

    xxx
