I have found a glass of milk and packet of polo's helps wonders with the heartburn!

Glad I am not the only one with the uncomfy baby in the mornings.

I too, although a very confident in the workplace and a little bolshy when comfortable am shy, and I have lived here for 4 years now and have not made any friends locally, other than work acquantainces.

The only exception to that is Lisa from this forum, who lives 5 mins down the road and as we are in a similar situation with the babies, is fast becoming a very good friend. I am trying to get my head round getting involved in a local group once baby comes, so DH and I have joined (socially) the local cricket club as it has a family friendly bar, squash courts, etc and it is where his running club is, so am going along tonight to hand membership cheque over and then I might offer my services for helping on committee stuff.

The bar is open every night, they do food etc, have quiz nights, loads of summer events like BBQ's and it is all family friendly, so hopefully we can improve our social life and include baby and she will make friends too!!!!

I know my purpose whilst on Mat leave is my baby, but I need a focus of some sort too other than baby!! x x

Well I'm going to race you both, but I have a funny feeling I'm going to be last!

As this is my first, I don't think she will be in any hurry to come out, but an easter baby would be nice!

I can't wait to join mother and baby groups. I'm the same I will have lived here 2 years next week and I haven't really made any friends. I keep in contact with a girl from work who had her baby in november (met up with her yesterday) but apart from that my only friends are ones DH had when I moved here (he's been here about 8/9 years). They are nice but they live about 20 mins drive away and I don't drive so only see them when DH is with me.
