With my first, I had to have 3 injections at set times because I had an epidural when they stitched me up so because I couldn't get up and walk about and my BMI was over 30, they had to give me injections to stop me getting blood clots, but these were administered by the midwife.

  • Lucy - my SIL had her third baby at new year and she was sent home with 5 days of injections to do with anti clotting. She was told it was because it was her 3rd and she had a difficult delivery and lost a lot of blood so really needed to rest up for a few days. My brother was shown how to do them and she said it was pretty painless.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I am just so shattered with all these nocturnal toilet trips. I swear I would be better sleeping in the bath!!

Well after 36 hours of labour and only getting to 4/5cm the docs advised an epidiral. Im in bliss now :) just a waiting game now.

Emmylou. Sounds painful, hope it feels better soon.

Having a "get the house ready for Bump" day today, as taking DD out for the day tomorrow and going for Tapas for tea, then its Induction on Monday. Slightly scary that I'll be having a baby in 2 days tops.

Just made up the Moses basket. Looks so lovely :)

Now gonna have a cuppa and watch Princess and the Frog with DD. Such a hard life :D x

Thinking of you Gilly, sounds like you're doing really well... Shame things aren't progressing as quickly as you'd like but hopefully it won't be too much longer for you now! Xx

Gilly - Good luck! On my birthplan I've got that I want an epidural as soon as I'm allowed, so that's good to know!
