Insurance for possessions when being moved by the MOD

OH and I are being posted to another UK location. I have just found out that the system has changed since we last moved (October 2009) and that the removal company that has been allocated does not provide any insurance whatsoever for our possessions. This is despite the fact they are packing and unpacking them and driving several hundred miles with them!
They have referred us to our existing contents insurance company, who don't provide cover, or to Agility Logisitics who are arranging the move. Agility have in turn referred us to stand alone companies, one of which wants £540  for up to £20k cover which nowhere nears covers our possessions!
Has anyone else come across this situation or can offer advice please?

Our last move (2007) we paid for extra insurance, but that's what your disturbance allowance is for
(ETA it was nowhere near that amount though... Our contents insurance is with a specifically forces company so perhaps that made a difference)
I have known many people move recently and they haven't mentioned this... Whether they just assumed it was already insurered.
If a removals company is registered, don't they have insurance through that? Can't remember what the blumming association is called now.
There's a Facebook group called RAF quarters, now I don't know which service you are with, but there are people on there that know all the ins and outs so should be able to help

As above,
Disturbance allowance should be used to fund the necessary insurance cover. I know that the existing forces financial kit & contents package covers you for goods in transit.
Take a look at this thread, it has a few links in it .

There is a thread on another forum I belong to as well, and the lady on there said that MoreThan cover contents in transit.
