There's also the issue whether a 12 year old is able to recognise and deal with the sick people that like to hang around kids in swimming pools to keep themselves safe, never mind a smaller sibling.

Or whether they would be distracted by the 15 year old boys (or girls) and not notice their kid brother/sister getting into trouble.

I am guessing the PC brigade have popped out this new policy. However I would ask to see this policy in writing, I am betting they cannot produce such a rule else it would be signposted at the paypoint.

I used to go swimming on my own when I was about 10. Now I can't take 2 children swimming on my own even though my son is 10 and can swim 25 metres and has a certificate from that very pool to say so. Madness!
