Well I ordered online on 5th and had most yesterday - just a few keyrings to follow.
However I ahve seem that they ddi take from my credit card on the 5th - not the day it was dispatched - also you cannot pay by Paypal now on their site - well a lot fo us on here couldn't.
So I came off ok but not sure how safe it is - website still up and running and a lot of us bought when things were 4 for £10 - looks like that is finished now and they are charging p&p too.
Apparently the Administrators are trying to get a buying and it sounds proising - but don't buy a lot just in case.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

Sorry - was doing a reply quickly on the laptop in bed - thought it was the spirit of the message that was the most important anyway?
Good luck with your order Sunflower.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

I too have made a £60-ish order. We can only go on the statements of the administrators and the supposition that they are trying to do what administrators are supposed to do - sell as much as they can to increase income and reduce stock.
We, on the other hand, are just trying to be sensible and save some cash
Yes, it's a small risk - but a calculated one and one that I think is justified.
I fully expect to see my goods... or I'd suspect some form of fraud, if my card is deducted without having stock or intention to supply after the company is declared 'in Administration', as it is now.:)
Good luck to us all, I think...:wave:0 -
Does anyone know if the store in St Albans is still open? Will be near there tomorrow so will make a detour if so. Such a shame, always a good place for gifts. Very sad for the staff.0

DD worked for Past Times, they're not on commission for jewelry - or anything else - but the company sets a standard that every customer is 'welcomed' within x-minutes of entry to the shop and that sales staff inform customers of the jewelry offer.
They had to push add-ons like boxes or cleaning cloths too.
Staff were 'scored' on their performance - she lost marks for letting people shop in peace!
Sounds like most of the retail brands I've worked for (the worst being River Island) You think all those 16yr/o kids are having an easy ride- think again! Its one thing to be recognised by the occasional clapping session in an early morning hand over but to be told your "not selling enough mens suits" (probably because your busy serving other customers shoes or trying to greet every customer asking them if they are OK (an unapproached customer is worser offence then not selling) is something else.
The problem arises when a mystery shopper visits, they mark everything without you knowing. Amoungst many other pages of things is the greeting of customers. If you haven't greeted them and told them your name within x minutes of them being in the store then you fail and the store has the regional manager send in a hit squad, everyone then is treated as a failure and this is made clear when its explained to the team by the head chief why exactly they have had to put down their crack-berries to visit the peasents who deem to work for them!
Shop assistants do not have an easy job, its made worse by the fact that if they do sell, they don't get anything out of it other then a pat on the back, its the man at the top that reaps the rewards.
Sad to hear about Past Times, think its probably more to do with people trying to cut back on any frills and deluxe items rather then shop assistants not selling enough jewellery though!0
