I really hope they get a reprieve. I am currently going through a redundancy, found out just before Christmas, and it's not nice There is going to be nothing left on the High Street! xxx

Your remarks made me think about how many times I find something in a store and then come home to order the same thing online because I can get cash back and often redeem online only codes or vouchers to get extra off and free delivery, and also not have to carry it home. Maybe these shops should think about offering more of an incentive to buy instore as against online. Perhaps more attractive offers and stackable loyalty type vouchers for in store use only.

Except when you are at work full time, online ordering and deliveries are really inconvenient, half the delivery companies are a nightmare, and you then end up travelling miles or waiting hours to collect a package....and that's if the company doesn't email you a day after it's confirmed your order to say the items are OOS....sometimes it's nice just to leave the shop with a bag .

It's so sad.

I love this shop and couldn't resist spending far more than I am comfortable with on several Dowton Abbey cushions and mugs - but I had to have them!

I agree. I thought it was a novel idea when i went into the first shop several years ago. The last time I went into one of their shops, it was maybe 3 or 4 years ago, I was pounched on by sales assistants on commission to sell jewelry. Not very impressed with that and did not go back.

I know the stores in both Street and Taunton went very quickly. It was very sad they were even selling the shelves in TauntonI felt very sorry for the staff who kept smiling and being pleasant to all the customers saying how sad they were it was closing.

can confirm in store as well in my local in cheltenham everything was 50% off.

Past times staff do not work on commission..we get told to greet and advise at the jewellery table. We are still going to work each day as a team and trading, even though inside we are all fearing for our jobs.
