In that case wait until he goes in for neutering and ask the vet to take a look if it's still there then. Unless of course it increases in size, starts to produce a discharge or bothers him in any way in the mean time. It's quite common for a small lump to develop at injection site but it will usually disappear within a few weeks.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I once had a cat that had a lump appear as a reaction to her vaccinations, it was between the shoulder blades where they inject & nothing could be seen at all it was definitely under the skin. I did take her to the Vets so it was confirmed that it was the vaccinations & no treatment was needed it went on its own & never bothered her so it could be that. You can always call the vets, receptionists often know whether to bring the pet in or not or will ask the vet but they can't diagnose over the phone. I'd keep an eye on it, if he appears unwell or it bleeds/gets pus/grows etc i'd take him in if not I wouldn't. Pics please? lol0

i would go to the vets though as its better to be checked:)
Could this be from scrapping with another cat? He does go outside a lot.
I'm just worried in case somewthing nasty has had a go at him.:o0 -

Not necessarily, he could have done it himself if he's been scratching an itch (fleas?)“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

No, that's a retinal reflection you can see from the camera flash. Both irises are the same colour“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Having a similar issue at the moment with a lump on one of our kitten's backs so just wanted to post what the vet said.
Kitten developed a pea-size lump on her lower neck/upper back, sort of in the middle not to one side which we first noticed in December. We asked the vet about it when she got neutered and they said they thought it was scar tissue around her microchip. They scanned the area of the lump with the microchip zapper thing and it was indeed in that location.
Over the last few days we noticed that the lump has suddenly got a lot bigger. Took her to the vets again today to have her stitches out from being spayed and the vet took some of the fluid out of the lump and the fluid turned out to be pus. Vet says microchip was not put in correctly and has ended up being sat within the skin rather than under the skin and that it needs to be removed as if the lump bursts it will be an open abcess.
So we are looking at £200 to remove the microchip + £29 to put a new one in! Luckily we are insured with Petplan (thanks to the recommendations of the posters on here) so that will cut the cost down.
Oh and kitten already has gingivitis from eating Felix, the vet says. So all in all a bit of a depressing visit!
Just thought the info about the lump might be helpful.0
