Etsy is great for custom made, custom sized items. There are lots of wonderful sellers there that will make you collars and harnesses to fit. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0

I was advised by my vet not to put a collar on my chihuahua after she had seen them with coughing.
small breeds like chis can suffer with collapsed trachea, and using a collar can obviously cause this.
She has a small harness for walks, although she does have a collar on VERY loose which has her disc on.
I'd try Pets at Home, ebay, other online pets stores for a ferret harness as others have suggested.
My Angel has the smallest harness from an independent pet store near me, and it is still slightly too big and she can slip out of it, and she's fully grown now! so just keep an extra careful eye on her when she's out lol0 -

I lost my Yorkie 7 months ago due to trachea collapse. He had to be put to sleep as his condition deteriorated over night and he was choking to death! The cause of trachea collapse is the weakening of the trachea rings, not collars. Collars do not help the condition as it puts extra pressure on the windpipe when dog pulls on the lead. I have two new Yorkie pups and refuse to put collars on them since learning of trachea collapse which is very common in small breeds.

I have my dogs discs on their harness, I don't even like the thought of a collar on a dog now after what my Yorkie went through, his last day still upsets me. My friend lost her dog due to it's collar getting caught in the fence when it was in her gardenI think collars are dangerous and shouldn't be allowed, I wouldn't like to be pulled along by a lead round my neck - it must be very uncomfortable for dogs even little pulls no matter how loose the collar is.

Thanks again all, I definitely won't be using a collar after reading these
, has anyone got any thoughts on a harness like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOG-HARNESS-EXTRA-SMALL-PINK-/130628473143?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5703857709467070786#ht_1428wt_1396 I have only ever used the "strappy" type harnesses on another dog (am so sorry I don't know how to shorten link)

My smaller Yorkie managed to get loose from his harness last night as he was backing off when I was trying to get him in the car so I think the material ones might be safer for smaller dogs trying to escape! They sell them in pets at home too for £9.99 http://www.petsathome.com/shop/puppy-padded-harness-by-pets-at-home-58610
I went to Pets at Home yesterday especially for a new harness (for my bigger Yorkie pup) but there is a huge difference between the XS and S so I ended up buying a temporary one from Wilkinsons but it's around the same size or smaller than the XS one's I got from Pets at Home. I wonder if it would be small enough for Angel. They had them in red, blue and black and were only £2.49. I have just found them on their website. If you can't find one small enough, maybe you could alter it with a little stitch as the strap are thin. This is the one I purchased from Wilko's but in black.

I tried one of those on my Angel, but was actually too small, so ended up getting a normal 'strappy' one like you mentioned.
I like the look of those you've linked to, they look much more comfy than the others0
