Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore (or in short F1s debt diary)

Well finished watching Superscrimpers yesterday afternoon - is it me or is this series not as good ................?
Spoke to Money Advisor yesterday - she is lovely - calmed me down no end - apologised for not getting the info to me (coming in the post)
Spoke to my Doctor (for a brief checkup on tablets) and then took a deep breath and asked if he could write a letter explaining about my health problems and how the debts are affecting me - this came out as the biggest 5 minutes of babble you have ever heard :rotfl:and at the end he said oh yes certainly I can ask them to stop harrassing you ............... oh dear its meant to help them maybe/perhaps write some off ...............:rotfl::rotfl:(which I do feel guilty about we made this mess we should pay it ) so the MA is going to speak to his secretary (good luck on that one they are like little demons:rotfl:) - I cant believe I fluffed it all up I was so tongue tied - I felt like i was asking to be excused from games as I have ladies problems :rotfl::rotfl:
Now this morning I was up early and switched on to find the shopping channel on - I cant believe that for the last hour I have been seduced by a Steam Cleaner (with free accessories worth 19.99 she says in her best voice over accent!) - as I used to be a clean freak (brain wants to be sadly body / bones isnt any more) Im hooked on one of these - dont worry Ive hidden the remote and the phone and my debit card - do they really work as well as they say they do - I will stick to a lovely value bottle of cleaner and an elbow! (oh and while we are on the subject the other ladies have been talking Bicarb - yes I use it along with white wine vinegar for cleaning)
I just had a quick nosey at pinot's diary and was so happy to see she had been to George after I had seen they had a discount on Woolies :j Im chuffed to meatballs I dont think Ive given any advice before like that and it worked ................. (little things please little minds and all that)
Well I will be off DS not at school today - whatever ive suffered with a little for a few days he now has - he aches, is tired, cough, blocked nose and has the worst blood shot eyes Ive seen since I shared a house with the girls and we had been out for a heavy night:rotfl:- back later xDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
Hey F1, I'm so sorry for not posting for ages and ages and ages.
Anyway thankyou again for top jumper tip, I am wearing another one now as I type ! I dont ever look in George , as its pretty much the only clothes shop where we live and I feel that everyone is wearing the same thing, but the jumpers were so nice I decided that I dont care anymore. I also dont really tend to wander around our little town much, I hibernate ,working in my broom cupboard instead ! Anyway I am chuffed to bits and did a little catwalk sashay around the kitchen last night for the family and lapped up the appreciative comments !:rotfl:
On a serious note please please dont beat yourself up about your visit to the docs yesterday. I am terrible at explaining myself and always feel like a naughty school girl in the matrons office. I even get Mr Pinot to call the school if the girls are sick as I tend to waffle on and on and on ( as you can see I type in the same way !!) and then I dig myself a big hole and tend to sound like I'm not telling the truth ! At leasy the MA is going to step in now, you never know he may be able to sweet talk the secretary !
I have a Lakeland steam cleaner, I think it was a £35 ish, it doesnt have any fancy attachments, but my kitchen floor would not come as clean as I would like it, and I am really pleased with mine. I hadnt seen my tiles look so nice for years, and I am a bit of a clean freak and get very stressed if things aren"t just so ! Well done on not succumbing to the purchase.......yet !:T
And Superscrimpers, dont get me started on those legwarmers !!! But, I loved the lady who baked the crayons in the oven and the butter man !
Hope your DS is feeling much better soon xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Thanks for your post Pinot
Am pleased to report that I still NOT the owner of a steamer - whatever made me think yesterday it would be a good idea ..... maybe I have some NON-SPEND DELIRIUM
But I do need to make a confession ............................... put me in the naughty corner I honestly had forgotton I had done this as I did it at the point of LBM - a magazine plopped through my door today "Lets Knit" mmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy but in my defence I had rang to cancel an introductory subscription (being good) only to be seduced by 3 issues for £5 (normal price £4.99 each issue) - Im soooooo very sorry - am I banned from DFW????? I did that in very early January and remember now they said it would start with March issue - just goes to show so I pulled the paperwork out and put it on my "to do pile" to make sure I dont run over the three months and will cancel before they take a further 12 months............
On the plus side I have saved a lot of electric this week as I had realised I have not hoovered for three days (normally twice a day sometimes) and I have not ironed :rotfl::rotfl:
Had a "lovely" call from Vanquis collectors this morning 8.10am - just the time of day you want one of those calls - they have been told repeatedly not to phone me as it is affecting my health by the Money Advisors - they are now saying that they have no obligation to speak to the MA as this is my account and therefore I am the one to speak to - such a lovely polite understanding young man............................. do you get any hint of sarcasm - anyway I told them firmly that they have still not given the MA the information they are seeking and until then it is companies such as theirs that are holding up any offers of payments - job done - but hey im sure they will ring tomorrow!Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
In answering their call I'd say "Your notes should tell you to speak to my Money Advisor, if you call again I will charge you my hourly rate for incompetence, goodbye" then hang up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

hi all - nothing much to report here (only a good moan and groan and doom and gloom!)
1. No sign of my info from MA?????
2. Vanquis have my phone number on speed dialand insist that the best time to phone me is just a minute after 8.00am in the morning (have been caught a couple of times during the day as well to be fair!)
3. A lovely letter came from Tax Credits to say my claim is stopping due to the changes in April - yipppeeeee I say sarcastically I didnt need that £40 a month anyway .................
Now Im sure Im not the only one to be getting this letter - Im so angry - Im assuming this is because they have moved the income threshholds for claimants ??
As for money saving Im still watching the spends - have told OH that I really dont want anything for valentines day - he nearly fell over as I do get a bit like a "diva" on valentines day and anniversarys in the hope that just one year he becomes romantic :rotfl:- I will of course make him the heart biscuits and a card but Im not bothering this year - he did bring me some flowers the other day - 20p knockdowns from Tesco - they were lovely - so no unnecessary spends - I dont need expensive gifts I have him - aaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ive been plopping the loose change found in OHs laundry into the pot and will tally up at the end of the month (although I have to say with not much being spent theres not much spoils for the laundry lady!)
And one other good thing I did receive £11 in tesco points :T
Will pop back to report on more moans later !Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Funny, I can get like that but this year he asked whether we were doing anything and I said "I'll leave it up to you". I think he just about fell out of his chair. :rotfl: I made him a card and crocheted a heart for him. I got a small box of heart shaped chocolates. I think he decided it was more than his life was worth not to get me anything. :rotfl: I would have been happy with something hand made (he has a way with writing funny ditties).Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi thanks for the support whilst ive been missing and just sorry ive not been supporting anyone - health issues and terrible sofa"itus" has hit me the last few weeks - hubby and DS were off at half term which did not help but am hoping am back in the swing of things now
Well things are finally starting to happen some good some bad
Armed with a list in the last few days I feel very productive and have had my first letter to say a debt has been paid off :j:j:j im feel so good - its only £100 which when I get some more figs from the money advisor I can write down what I owe you will see is only a drop in the ocean but it has made me feel sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo positive
Also sold some bits on ebay 12 items = £55.98 which I did not think was bad considering it was odds and ends out of one wicker basket I keep my knitting bits in plus three magazines and there lies a story ........ I brought Mollie Makes Magazine when it came out on special 3 issues for £5 - it was a really lovely magazine with a nice freebie (none of which I made) so as the mags were in such good condition (Im funny about my mags!) I thought well I will sell them expecting to only get 99p each issue WELLLLLLLLL NO I DIDNT I made over £33 on three issues !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! issue 1 £20.79 and the other two issues £6 something and £7 something - it really shocked me - so if you have any copies get them on Ebay!
so items that have happened in the last week are
1) £55.98 made on ebay (less fees)
2) More items listed on ebay today
3) One debt paid off :j
4) have typed up my excel budget sheets for me to use
5) Got my BT monthly payment down by £51.50 per month :j (my payment was huge because we kept over running on the internet but I have to say we cant fathom out how anyway that is now paid back - I still think we can shave more off but will try that next quarter as they wont allow any more deduction at the moment)
6) Gas and elec payments have gone up by £12 for the two  - but I still bartered with them they wanted it to go up by £60  I said no way !!!!! (they rang me to do a review - told me my payments needed to be £80 up to £104 and £88 up to £114 (did not give a figure what I was underpaid by - I said no my useage is only £50 ish pounds on each that still means you are getting £30 back on each account towards the debt - with this niggling me I rang them back today and the guy told me what I was owing them and stated there was no way my payments needed to be over £100 for each account and said that what it was set at was good so hey ho - its better in my acct than theirs!!!!! and this way I will still (hopefully be in credit with them!)
7) had my diagnosis from the hospital - I have psoriatic arthritis (quite bad) with perhaps an overlap of fibromyalgia and need some yukky medication which Im still umming and arrrgghhing about - it might be bad but at least its shows why I often feel so poopy so I take this as a positive having been ignored for 4 years by Docs!
8) Told Vanquis/Impact that I refuse to answer the phone anymore - hah! My money advisor has written to them asking them politely to stop trying to deal with me as it is having an impact on my health (my anxiety etc) and to deal with them - they have taken no notice and have at times been very derogatory about my health issues stating that they do not know why illness had anything to do with them and it made no difference to them how ill i was etc etc - I was shaking one day and got off the phone crying - anyway now I feel a bit stronger I told them today that I was going to ignore their calls from now on and if they wanted info and for this to be sorted out they really needed to phone the Money Advisor!
So things are finally moving and I do (this week anyway ha ha) feel positive - Im still watching all the pennies but must now touch wood as something will happen Im sure - always does :rotfl:
Im sure there are a few more good things and will come back in tomorrow to update further - I must get over and look at my subscribed threads - sorry everyone Ive been letting you down
