never been in there myself - or even heard of it. but i won't know where to go now to buy a peacock if i want one.

Nobody has any money to spend on tat. They are all spending it paying the rent and putting food on the table. House prices and landlords yields must be protected at all costs, even if it means mass unemployment, retail failures and nobody having any money to spend.0

What a shame
I feel for those losing their job but Past Times really did cater to a specific market I think. I've only been in a few times over the years and nothing really in there I wanted. Pretty to look at, not a lot of use type stuff.

Their admim HQ and distribution centre is at Nantgarw just north of Cardiff. They employ a lot of Welsh people there, especially from the Valleys as it's between the valleys and the city .... but once you go inside the building the signage is in English/Polish and not the usual English/Welsh you see everywhere else.0

My cousins a manager and shes very upset.
Peococks have really improved last 5years inprived their stores,range and offering good value for money.
They actually turning profits.
its a debt restructuring problem my guess from news earlier is rbs said no as thats who they bamk with.
Bit like how banks let woolies go to the wall when it could have been saved.

Their regular (non-sale) prices seemed to be a lot more expensive than their competitors (Primark, George, Tesco).0

looks like they may have a buyer for bon marche but the whole peacocks group hasnt gone into admin yet,whilst rbs have withdrawn support barclays hasnt0
