Could I get any help from anywhere to help with my vet costs :(?

When my dog had an ulcer on his eye and had to have an operation to scrape it and then have it stiched up for a while to protect it, I had paid my excess with having treatment on the eye to see if it would clear up with ointment. The vet asked me if it would be diffficult to afford the cost of the operation up front and I said I would struggle to find the money, they asked if I would like them to claim direct and they did.
Now he's had to go on to Vetmedin tablets, they didn't bother asking if I wanted to do it again, just asked me to send them a claim form.
He's insured with Sainsbury's.0 -
I think I'm e-challenged; I've just lost half a yard of encouraging waffle.
No-one is going to help you towards what you have already paid: the vet will almost certainly allow you the few extra days to pay for the final check-up etc if you explain your circumstances.
Don't feel bad that she wasn't insured - if she's 5-6 years the bill is probably less than the premiums would have cost you.
Do you still live with your dad? If so, you are in a great position to start saving again for your deposit. If you decide to insure the dog, check first with the vet whether she is likely to have any ongoing problems from her accident (these cannot be covered by insurance).
Hope your girl recovers soon, please keep us posted about her.0 -

Me too - i've sold anything I could in the last month, my netbook, my laptop, and still trying to sell more cos the credit card bill never got paid and they're hounding me, but a little scared about what happens when i've nothing left to sell. Looks like Milo's going to be on tablets for life (they cost £48 from the pharmacy yesterday), special hepatic food £50 plus the normal expenses that's if he continues to get better. I'd give my last breath though to save him he's my world. And its also made me look at the unneccessary things I buy that I dont need.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0
