kitchen prices

ok I know there are alot of posts about kitchens lately... I have been looking but I wanted to ask a question if people were willing to answer it...


How much roughly did you pay to get a new kitchen put in the works etc... ?


I have had a quote and am really thinking about it very carefully - yes I need a new kitchen - I have not went over the top for gadgets etc but I have lived in flat for seven years nearly and put in the first kitchen and a new one is gonna just make it all a bit easier with work top space and just nice from the monster state it is right now.

my mate has just paid 900 quid for labour only to fit a new kitchen.
not inc the floor nor wall tiles.
he bought all the units etc himself.

I think your question does not have a straight answer, as it depends on too many factors... if you want a rough idea go to several kitchen shops and asks for quotes. Also on Ikea you can design your own kitchen and it calculates the price itself, you just need to add labour (which will be more expensive than the kitchen itself..).

Yeah I know what you are saying I think am just roughly meaning how much did people pay for when gettin their kitchen in...some people pay up to 10k.. but my kitchen needs so much work. I am defo going to do it. och you know am havering - its quite an exciting and big thing for me (sad sack I know!!)

anything from £750 (supply only) upwards would say an average kitchen costs about £3-6k installed depending on fittings and works needed.

Most companies do free no obligation design quotes, go and see them, theyll give you more of an idea for your kitchen than we can really unless you give us a lot more details.

You do really need to shop around, you can spend as little or as much on a kitchen as you like.

Different products for different tastes and budgets, only you know what you want, figure out how much you want to spend and then shop around...

This is a builder/electrician I know - I reckon any other builder would have a field day with me - need plumbing and tiling and floor done and a small part wall took away.. I am goin to be able to save alot of money over the next couple of months due to paying off insurances and council tax in full I reckon 6k is fair including new appliances and lighting fixed. as above really. its hard to give any sort of proper answer cause the size of the kitchen and the quality of the units/appliances makes a huge difference.
and where you live.
as a guide 5-10k seems about the going rate. but ive heard of figures far far above 10k.
i know of one kitchen costing 25k and that was over ten yrs ago.

Depends on how you look at it really. I'd says 5-10k was a cheap kitchen, most of the kitchens I've sold recently have been somewhere between 12k and 25k. Going back a couple of years ago, when selling Stoneham kitchens, the price range was between 35k and 120k (average sales price one year was a little under 65k) Some companies wouldn't bother talking to you if you didn't want to spend over 50k.

But then again, I see trade kitchens going out all the time, for anything between 1k and 3k, all depends what you're looking for.
