  • Hurray, glad it's not just me.
Sometimes, actually everytime, my Nationwide will not accept on-line details at the first attempt, just thought this was an extra security thing.

I know I did the Monmouthshire log-in details right.

If I can book o.k. with Ryanair and get through their maze, then I'm pretty sure I could do this o.k., but apparently not.:(

The lovely soft Welsh accent is very soothing, you just can't get cross, mind, a Southern Irish accent would make me buy anything.
Should never have watched Father Ted:rotfl:

I'm fairly sure I've paid in my £12k - sent off the £20 and got my passbook, then used the instructions in the booklet to top it up to £12k. But I'm having no end of trouble registering for My Accounts

Hmm - I'd never push that much money into an account without having seen a test transfer arrive safely !
  • I did a £1 test before I did a big transfer. It did take several days for the £1 to show up.

.... but they do credit it from the date you made the transfer.

I have had no probs logging in or registering account details, so it works OK sometimes.
    Maybe it's just me

Received my passbook finaallllllly today. Registered for online access so I can deposit the £11980 and now I have to wait for the activation code to come through in the post. Wowwwww it takes ages...
  • Good luck with that Eviekins:mad:

Activation code didn't work first time, was sent another which arrived today and that didn't work either.

Another accounts activation key arrived also today, and that didn't work.
This is getting ridiculous, and I'm going to ring them up again.

No doubt they'll send another activation code, so more time wasted and who's to say that'll work!!!

Set up a Shawbrook 18 month fix and was able to send full deposit amount electronically immediately. Just wish I put in more now that this ruddy account is taking forever and a day to get going.
  • Just got off the phone with a very helpful member of staff.

She stayed on the phone while I went through my sequence and I/we managed to activate the account.

However my O.H'.s account locked him out as he'd already tried twice, she's sending a new activation code today and assured me it will arrive tomorrow.
He then has to bring up his account on the computer, ring her before trying to activate it and she will go through it and help.

There is obviously a blip somewhere, and although I felt like an idiot going through the activation, I know it isn't me.

I told her other people on a certain money forum were having the same problem and asked if she minded if I put up this information as quite a lot of potential customer were getting rather frustrated.
So, if you are experiencing problems with your activation key, don't try more than twice or you'll get locked out. Give them a ring on 01633 844340 and hopefully you can get activated by this method.

    Phew!!!!!!!!!

There is no need to wait. As soon as you have your account number (in the passbook and the letter they sent with it) you can deposit your money by faster payment.
  • Hi Apt, you're right of course:o

Done that lots of times in the past with other accounts, I think I got bogged down in the fact that I had to be on-line to see the actual account and for future withdrawals etc.

Shawbrook isn't an on-line account, sent deposit immediately they sent sort code etc and received acknowledgement letter straight back, so all done and dusted.

So I was getting rather tunnel-visioned and impatient.

Keep Calm and Carry On needs to be my motto, well for today anyway;)

    This account is a joke!
Received the activation key today and I've just had exactly the same problem. Now I have to wait for another code. I'm so fed up with this flipping account already! Grrrrrrrr!
